    My Trip Report

Went to LV for 10 days and wanted to post since I have not written a report in quite a while. Kudos to Buddah as we traded some coupons which saved a ton. Also show tix and some food coupons bought at KSHP.com- i cant say enough of the deals I have gotten there over the years and tips, coupons, etc from this site. NOTE all food/entertainment we used coupons.

Nov 7 left San Diego at 1 pm and in Vegas by 6 pm to check in at Arizona Charlies on Boulder Hwy for 3 days . The hotel is pretty dumpy/dirty rooms and still debating if we will stay again! We stayed there because no Extortion fees. We couldn't check in as the computers were down-off to a good start.
Went to dinner at Emerald Island in Boulder. Great food and small smokey casino though the wife won$300. Back to the hotel checked in and zonked out after a long day working and driving.

    Day 2
Ate at AZ Charlies breakfast buffet- C rating-food was marginal.
Dinner was Casa D Amoire a LV advisor coupon plus match play. Food was pricey and the lasagna I had was just average. Best thing was play $20 through the machine they give you $20 credit via the LVA coupon. I made $10so that helped with the meal. Saw Gallagher at the Tropicana via KSHP tix were $20 for the pair. He was pretty funny but no watermelon smashing. He
ripped into a heckler which was pretty funny as the guy didn't know when to quit!

    Day 3
Breakfast at the Longhorn. Dinner at the East side Cannery buffet. The Dinner buffet is pretty bad as we found out in past trips but we had a 241 signing up as new members so we took it. The Cannery up north has much better food!We got some great deals by texting to their offers they advertised on their machines! Check them out as we got free play, free
match play, and $10 each at their restaurant Snaps which has some good food!
Entertainment was a Christian concert called Winter Jam at Thomas & Mack. It was a great show and parking was free! That is unheard of these days!!!

Day 4 checked out of AZ Charlies -thank goodness and killed some time before the 3 pm check in at The Orleans. We went to the East Side Cannery for lunch at Snaps. We each used our free$10 coupons so it was 5 for the tip-free lunch.. Checked into The Orleans for 3 days. They always have nice rooms but I try to avoid the dreaded RESORT extortion fee but had a mail offer so rooms were $35 a night total. We ate at The Tuscany hotel on Flamingo. They have a great Mexican restaurant and 241 coupon too! I did notice the portions were smaller than usual. Entertainment was Raiding The Rock Vault at the LVH. We got 2 tix for $25 through KSHP. The show was pretty good. The show covers 60,70,80's with a mix of rock songs with a great live band of famous former band members-Example lead guitar is from Heart.

    Day 5
Went all the way to East side Cannery to take advantage of some free play, match play, and a $4 breakfast. Its 2 eggs,3 pancakes, toast and bacon or sausage. good deal and tastes great. Went to Bella Panini in the Venetian for a light dinner. Entertainment was Human Nature. These guys are good as we have seen them before. Got 2 tix for $40 at KSHP.

    Day 6
Went to South Point for their breakfast buffet. They have good food, fresh and with a 241 found on the LVA on line site the coupon made it $7.50 for 2 people! For dinner we went to Ellis Island and had the $9 steak special. No coupon but I am sure you know the deal- NY steak, green beans, salad, rolls, baked potato or rice and a Root Beer- We don't drink but they do have a great Root Beer ! Entertainment was the Bee Gees tribute band at the Excalibur. Tix were free when we bought Human Nature tix from KSHP and this is the 2ND time we saw the show. I'm not a big Bee Gees fan except for a few songs but they do a good job. If you survived the disco era you know what I'm talking about. I had a flash back too!

    Day 7
Checked out of the Orleans and into the EL Cortez. Prior to the check in went to South Point for their breakfast buffet. They have good food, fresh and with a 241 found on the LVA on line site the coupon made it $7.50 for 2 people! Also went to The Luxor to see the Titanic exhibit. We got 2 tix for $20at KSHP . I enjoyed the exhibit as it is a sad part of history. They have quite a display of the artifacts, stories, etc including a big piece of the Titanic(probably 20x40 ft).

I enjoy the stay downtown though not glamorous-NO Resort fees here! We stayed for 4 days in the Tower on the North Side as others suggested the other side could be noisy. Rooms are always clean but slamming doors, and random gurgling from the bathroom sink are the usual pains! For dinner we had the $5 burger, chips and beer or soda in the Cafe for $5 each. You cant go wrong with a burger at that price. Unless your a vegetarian and I feel sorry for you as meat is good food!
Entertainment was Recycled Percussion at the Quad. 2 tix for $20 bought through KSHP. The show was energetic but I wouldn't recommend it, though maybe some would as all tastes are different. They did have some good drumming, but some parts were lame. For example the finale was 2 guys banging sticks on 8 foot ladders. I would have had more fun watching
    paint dry;)

    Day 8
Breakfast at Texas Station for $7 for 2. I was bummed as the quality here has greatly diminished. We have eaten here in the past and food WAS good, not now. Dinner was the buffet at South Coast. I love the food here as I think its one of the best for the value $11 for dinner 241 coupon. I would recommend it as I will elaborate in another post about my take on Station Buffets. Entertainment was MJ(Michael Jackson) at The Rio-GregRio
comes to mind here as I miss his input-God Bless you Greg! Those who have been a member of the board for a little while know what I'm referring to here! It was a good show and the guy doing MJ sounded pretty darn good. We paid $45 for the tix at KSHP and it was worth it in my opinion. It is still weird and hard to believe MJ passed away!

    Day 9
Golden Nugget buffet 2 for $14 including tip. I like their breakfast and lunch but not too keen on their dinner. Dinner can be pricey but a 241 always helps too. You cant beat the Tank either! Dinner was at a Mexican restaurant at east Freemont and Charleston. The food was good but very shaky neighborhood! I forgot the name of the restaurant but again a rough area. Entertainment was Frank Caliendo at The Orleans. We had a 241 show ticket
which was $45 for both of us. We saw him a few years ago at The MGM and he was funny again! If he is in town whenever we go again I would go! We left with our sides hurting. We even got moved to the 5th row as they had 1 row of empty seats and moved a few select people. That was cool because we bought the cheap seats and ended up with an upgrade.

    Day 10
Breakfast buffet at the Sun Coast. Food was ok but rated a B-Another 241 helps ease the pain.Went to dinner at The South Coast and again great food. Entertainment was a free show at The Riviera Comedy Club. Coupon was in the ACG. Comedians were ok but crude at times. I guess that is to be expected.

    Day 11
Breakfast at The Silver Sevens- The old Terribles. Its still Terrible service. We got the deuces wild-2 eggs 2 pancakes and 2 bacon or sausage for $3 with their card. It took over 20 minutes to get the food and there were only 8tables with people. What a joke. The breakfast was filling though and got us home to San Diego.

A few regrets were we didnt see Rod Stewart- I didnt want to pay the price as always concerts are way over priced. What isnt thoug in LV. Also didnt see Le Reve. We have seen almost all Cirque shows but this is reg price $150 a ticket! Maybe next time via Craigs list.

Maybe I interpreted wrong, but seems like 11 days of bad food and bad shows. If so, at least you know you can skip the coupons on those places on the future. Thank you for sharing the trip report. Even if parts of the trip was not the best, I'm sure you all had fun!

Sounds fun...but I've never seen lower than an "A" rating for ANY casino restaraunt...if AZ Charlie's was a "C", I'd of promptly RAN AWAY!

I didnt mean to come across as negative, but just sharing my opinion.

The shows I would recommend that we saw were Human nature, Raiding the Rock Vault, Gallagher, and of course Winter Jam!.

Buffets I would recommend- South Point, golden nugget, SouthCoast.
Other places- Snaps at East Side Cannery, Ellis Island,

Put the radio station back on my favs list. I had lost it somewhere between old & new computer. No Titanic or Human Nature on there right now, dang it.

I thought the same thing... I admire saving a buck or two, but it seemed as though that was the main goal. That's a long trip and I trust a lot of fun was had in there most of the time.
