    My Trip Report

Flew out of Sea-Tac at 0715 Saturday morning and arrived at McCarren at 0944. While the wife and friends went to get the luggage I went to airport check in for the Paris. They gave me a room on the 4th floor but told me that it wasn't ready yet so I asked about a room with a view of the fountains i was told that would be an extra 45.00 a day. I decided that we didn't need a view that bad. We picked up the luggage and grabbed a cab and it was off to the Paris. We checked our luggage and decided to get something to eat.
One of the places we wanted to eat at was Mon Ami. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and the good food. Now, this is where things go down hill fast. We decide to do a little gambling and drinking...wife spots the giant WOF and since we've never played it before we sit down and play. After several hurricanes because, after all, it's five o'clock somewhere. I decide to go and see if our room is ready. I went to check in and they told me my room wasn't ready but they did have another room that was ready but it was smaller than the one I had been assigned at the airport. This is where the idiot in me took over. I said ok I'll take the room. Told the wife the room was ready but it was smaller and she replied "why did you do that I could wait unitl our room was ready. If this room is smaller then we had a petite suite. What were you thinking?" Obivously I wasn't. We go back to the casino and wife hits on WOF several times. I'm not hitting on anything but am drinking many hurricanes. We decide to stop at Napoleon's for a couple of drinks and free food. For the price of a drink each you get two baggets with turkey and roast beef each. It was actually pretty good and the drinks were the same price as the bar in the casino. We meet our friends afterward and hit BC, Flamingo, Harrahs, and end up a Casino Royale can't win anything but I'm getting plenty of drinks in a short time :drunk: . Not quite sure what time it is but we decided to call it a night and our friends decide to head back to the Strat where they're staying and we walk back to the Paris. At zero dark thirty the alarm clock goes off. It goes off two more times before I can figure out how to turn the damn thing off. Then at about 0600 our neighbors get noisy and wake us up. Obvoiusly karma is not smiling on me.

Finally get up about 9am we have an 11:30 reservation at the Sterling Brunch at Bally's. We love this place; all the champagne you can drink and lobster, cavair, and other quality foods and what other buffet gives you champagne while you wait to be taken to your table. After several hours of drinking and stuffing ourselves we decide it's time to gamble again. I played a WSOP VP the first couple of times I got to the bonus round but after that it showed me no love I finally walked away from it up 20.00 I played some more VP JOB but just wasn't feeling it. Wifey hit again on WOF it's becoming her ATM. Don't know what time it is but we all decide to go down to the Strat. The wife and I have never been there before so we figure why not. The first thing that hits me as I walk through the doors is the smell of moldy, musty, carpets. The Strat reminds me of some of the Indian Casinos we have up here...probably why I don't go very often. The table limits were pretty low. They had several $5.00 BJ tables and all the tables were crowded. After looking around I find a VP and start playing. I'm playing the hit and move strategy. Increase my starting balance by 50% get a drink and move to another machine. If I loose my initial money in (usually $20.00) I move. After a few hours I'm up over 100.00. Find the wife and we double team the big WOF and hit for another 250.00.

Do a little gambling but there's just no love. Decide to take a little walk and go over to the Belagio and look around. Don't see many people gambling just wonder if people just stay there but gamble at other casinos. Meet the wife back at the Paris and we decide to go to Napoleon's to try the champagne sampler and have a sandwich. The sampler's are a pretty good deal you get three flutes and the prices go 24, 26, 29 & 60 a single fluet will cost 16 and if you want Dom it will cost you 65 a fluet. After we've each finished of a sampler and wifey has another fluet and I have a cognac we realize it's time to meet our friends and head down to Freemont. First stop is the Fitz. We walk around and then head upstairs. Once again the VP is showing me no love and I don't seem to be able to get a drink. I head to the outside bar and buy a football of tequila & OJ. Bad decision. After the Fitz we head to the 4Q's and then to GN. I like the GN its got a nice feel to it. Unfortunately no one wants to gamble in it so we head to the Plaza. I think I finish the football and then get several more tequilla sunrises from this point on things are fuzzy. I think I tried to go to sleep in Binions at the big WOF but I'm not sure. Wife wanted to take a cab back to Paris but since our friends were taking the Deuce I decided that we would do the same. The Deuce misses our stop and the next stop is the Excalibur so we get off and I decide it's time to empty everything in my stomach :vomit: . The next thing I remember is getting off the Deuce at the Paris and then waking up later Tuesday.

After waking up and feeling like all of Mexico has camped out in my mouth and are celebrating in my head it's time to eat.
We head down to the the Cafe St Louis. The food is pretty good for a decent price but for some reason the waitstaff actually think this is Paris and they have a right to pretty much ignore you. The first good decision I make is that I should hydrate and not drink any alcohol for a while. As we're walking through the casino I see a $1.00 machine I want to play so I drop 100.00 in it and in about 10 minutes I cash out at 160.00 we decide to go over to the big WOF and see if we can't get more cash out of it. Unfortunately the game shows us no love and takes all our money. Most of the day is spent gambling with little if any luck.

    Wednesday, November 1

Our flight leaves at 4:20pm so we check out at 11:00 and decide to walk down the strip toward the Venitian. We get to Margaritaville and decide to check it out. I really like this place I could actually spend some time here. We order some food and I order a hurricane because it's 5 o'clock somewhere. They have got to make the best hurricane that I've had since being in Vegas. Well, time flies when you're having fun and before we know it it's time to take the taxi back to the airport and start the countdown till our next visit to the promised land

Thanks for the TR. Your experience on 10/30 is why I stick strictly to beer in Vegas, and if I stray I certainly don't mix too much! :vomit: is one thing that I desperately hope to avoid in Vegas!

    Alice,

Security at SeaTac was pretty easy it took maybe 10 minutes. You wouldn't belive what people still try to take through security though.
