Trip was May 13 to 23. Strictly a slot player. Myself, my Mom and my daughter for the first 5 days, then my sister and neice came for the last 5 days of the trip. First NYNY for 3 nights, then Cosmo for 2 nights then Venizia Tower Terrace suite for 5 nights. I retired from my job of 30 years two weeks before the trip. Like the idea of coming back home and not having to worry about going back to work. Woo hoo, happy retirement for me. Every May we take Mom to Vegas for 7 or 10 days since Dad passed 9 years ago. 9 years ago after Dad passed we decided to take Mom to Vegas to get her mind off Dad and get out to socialize again. Her last trip to Vegas at that time was 30 years ago so it was a nice change for her. We decided to make it a yearly thing for Mom and it has been 9 wonderful trip now for her. Mom is 79 so she is slowing down a bit but still loves to get her gambling on. NYNY: Gave me $1000 freeplay, $100 f/b per day and the players suite. I asked for the suite with the balcony but being my second time there the host said he couldn't until I proved myself with my gambling. At the end of the trip he apoligized that he didn't give me the balcony suite and said if I cancel my Cosmo stay and stay at NYNY he would have moved to the balcony suite. I told him no so he said the next trip he would put me in there. Not sure there will be a next trip to NYNY, as there are to many really nice places stay. I like the casino for slot playing but the rooms are aweful to me. Did well at the slots, won a few small jackpots the highest was for $1500 on a blazing 7's machine and my Mom won $1500 on the blazing 7's right beside me within minutes of me winning so we where happy. Left NYNY with about $1000 more than I went in with. Felt that was pretty good cause I spent about 10 hours a day gambling there so lots of ups and downs in the wins and loses. I'm not a foody at all. Like to eat small meals often instead of a long winded sit down meals. I feel like I'm wasting valuable gambling time if the meal takes more than an hour to do. Not the greatest place for easy and quick meal options at NYNY but it served the purpose. Headed over to MGM for their buffet one day. I like buffets cause you can pick and choose what to eat instead of just one item ordered off a menu and they are quick and easy, your in and your out. Their buffet is just ok, nothing special. The players suite is large but to me very worn and in serious need of renos. And I don't like rooms with a jacuzzi tubs beside the bed, just don't see the purpose of that, jacuzzis to me belong in the ensuite not the bedroom. But thats just me. All was comped at check out. Cosmo: Limo ride to the Cosmo from NYNY, quick and easy. Checkin was quick. First time staying there, stopped and played a few times but never stayed. Really loved the balcony. Was given a 2 night comp room with $75 freeplay for a starter. Kinda laughed at the freeplay as its no where near what I'm used to getting at other places but was more interersted in the balcony room. Even on a comp they still had a pending charge of $300ish for taxes, resort fee and upgrade fee. In the end a host comped all costs so was happy with that. Great slot selection at Cosmo. Found an 88 Fortunes and spent 90% of my time on it. Love that game. Was playing it and some young guy came and sat down beside me to play. Had a great time chatting with this guy for a few hours, he reminded me of my nephew so really enjoyed his company. The next night I'm back on the same machine and the same guy came and played beside me. I looked at him and said hey your back for more fun, we had a great time. So out of the blue I said to him, if I win the jackpot of $11, 570 that I'll give him $200. We both laughed about it as the odds are so against me winning, well 3 spins after saying that I WON. We both were super shocked and excited. True to my word I gave him the $200 and I pocketed $8000 (lost 30% to taxes for being Canadian) not a problem though will get it back next year. This young guy called all his friends over and they all started playing 88 Fortunes trying to win the new jackpot of $10,000. There was only 4 of these machines and my machine was the only paying one. Right after the jackpot win I hit the Major jackpot 4 times in the next few hours ranging from $800 to $1200. It was a great winning streak. My Mom and daughter came over to try the machines too but had no luck. By the end of the night the young guy I played with was calling my Mom, Gramma. It was cute. Had an absolute blast playing at Cosmo. Went in thinking I'm only gonna like the balcony and not the casino as it has such a young crowd as I'm 51 so was prepared to really dislike the place but turned out I love the place and can't wait to get back there at the end of June. The crowd is very mixed and not all young people, and I like the casino layout. Even Mom at 79 liked it the most out of the 3 hotels we stayed in. On the first night, before winning the jackpot, after a few hours of playing a host came up to introduce himself. A young Asian guy that was devilishly handsome. Had amazing eyes. If I was single and 30 years younger I would have put the move on him. ha ha Anyway, he introduced himself and told me he likes my play and is clearing my bill and said to go ahead and charge a few more meals to the room and he will clear them too. He asked about my offers from other casinos, so I told him and he wants me to send him some info so he can try to match what other hotels give. He said the room, limo, food is no problem but not sure he can get me the average $2000 feeplay I get from Venetian. He asked me to email when I get home to Canada and he will email me what offers Cosmo can do for me for a future visit. Love, love, love the wicked spoon buffet. That is the best food I have ever had at a buffet. Again, all was comped at the end of the stay. Venetian: Limo from Cosmo to Venetian, again quick and easy as well as checkin. $2000 freeplay, airfare rebate, f/b and suite comped. My sister and neice were arriving in Vegas that day to join us at the Venetian so asked my host for connecting rooms in the Venezia tower with terraces. It was so nice to open those large doors and let the fresh air and light in the room. Loved it. The terrace suites are on the first level of the Venezia so easy to get to. One elevator and a short walk to the room. Out our room door and 10 steps to the Venezia pool. Would have been great if the weather cooperated. Gaming at Venetian and Palazzo was awful this time for me. Lost most of my winning from the Cosmo there. Held back a few thousand just to be stubborn, didn't want to give V/P all my winnings. By night 2 of 5, my host came by and apoligized to me for the bad luck I was having. He said he took a look at my stats and seen I was taking a beating on the slots. Over the next few days won and lost. Lost more than anything but did hit for $1400 on 88 Fortunes, again lost 30% on the spot. One nice benefit was the airfare Venetian gives back. My host told me to go to the cage to collect my airfare rebate, they handed me $1000 cash, I was happy. Got bit ticked at constantly losing at the Venetian so we walked down to the Cosmo for the buffet. Went back to the 88 Fortunes machine before leaving and won the major jackpot again for $900. Had the machine up to $1800 in accumulated wins. Cashed out at $1500 and headed back to the Venetian only to loose it there. And again, all comped at the Venetian. Limo to the airport and thats, that the 10 days are over. Had the strangest weather this trip. Tried to use the pool at Cosmo and Venetian only to be clouded over within minutes. Never had that much cloud in our May trips before. Always look forward to the pool time in Vegas in May after a long cold Canadian winter. When I get home from my May trip I open our pool at home to continue the tanning time. No tan this year in Vegas, will have to get our pool at home up and running to get the pool and tanning time in. Pool season here is very short, June to the end of August, lucky if we get 12 weeks a year use. Had a flash flood one day, missed it though, was busy in the casino gambling. When we finally headed outside it was still spitting and wet out but couldn't tell there was a flash flood. Just heard that from others that seen it. Also heard from others that while we were there, there was a small earthquake, didn't feel a thing so didn't now about that either till I was told. Have a few pics on my phone but have no idea how to get them attached to this report. If I can figure it out I'll add them later to the report. Thanks for reading, hope I did't bore anyone. Just don't have the flare for TR's as some of them on VMB have but did want share my experience.
