    My Trip Report

This was my annual "work" trip, added on a few days of pleasure pre-convention! My husband and I have been together since age 16, we've been married 10 years now and have 4 children. Aside from last years trip, we had never been on vacation alone together. This year, we were celebrating 15 years together and 10 years of marriage

Of course, as like for most parents, vacation never goes off without a hitch. 4 weeks before we left our son (10) slipped on ice and sliced open his knee to which he needed 9 staples and then once they were removed he had 6 internal and 4 external stitches to keep it healing. The night before our trip, I was finally removing said stitches :nono:

February 23rd - Flew out of YYZ at 8pm, flight was delayed a bit because of de-icing so we landed about 30mins late, about midnight. Waited a long time for luggage and then took the shuttle to Ballys where we checked in, got a nice north tower room and turned on the AC while we went in search of food. Ended up at the Victorian Room in Bill's and then hung out at the Tequila Bar in Bally's watching a re-cap of olympic events.

February 24th - Went to Wynn buffet for breakfast, just made it in before they switched to lunch. After that we gambled a bit at Wynn and then walked over to shop at FSM. Walked back down the strip to drop off our goods and take a nap. For dinner we headed to Margaritaville and had nachos and way too much to drink on the heated patio. I believe after that we tossed some money into the slots at Flamingo and staggered back to home turf a little bit up. Again went into the Tequila Bar for an olympic update.

February 25th - Woke up a little later today and had lunch at Nathan's in Ballys - then we decided to go shopping at Miracle Mile, met up with a friend who works in there and went to Fat Tuesday for a double shot daquari :drunk:
She went and got us free tickets to Peepshow for the following week, some kind of employee promo going on. Yay. After a little more shopping, light gambling in PH we walked back to the room, dropped our bags and headed down to the sportsbook to watch the Canadian Women kick some US ass :wink2: we actually had a good number of Canadians surrounding us and it was a really good game, one man had shots flowing freely :drunk: Afterwards we went up to the Eiffel Tower to watch the sunset and then walked up to Grand Lux for a late dinner. We gambled a bit in the Venetian, played the Sex in the City slots and won a small amount of money (we just play penny and nickel slots) Again went into the Tequila Bar for an olympic update.

February 26th - One of my co-workers arrived this morning - we headed over to Cheesecake Factory for lunch, played slots on the way and then sat outside on the patio with some beverages. We ended up taking up pizza to our room for dinner and then had a short nap before heading to Napoleon's in Paris for the dueling pianos. Eventually, we found our way back to the room - had a great time!!!

February 27th - Moving Day!! Today was the day we were moving over to the Hilton to commence the work portion of my trip. We had breakfast at LeVillage Buffet and then picked up our rental car at Paris and we were off. Dropped off luggage off at the Hilton and went shopping for supplies. We had a huge fiasco at the Hilton, we had reserved a East Tower Suite (a little nicer than the Central tower, not quite as expensive as the North) and when I got to our room, it only had one king (turns out - they didn't have any with two beds left) That wasn't going to work, but in the meantime the bell desk had delivered our luggage so they got to follow us back down to the front desk to sort it out. In the end, they gave us a north tower suite, on the 28th floor that the bell guy kept saying "just take it, just say yes" Can I just say - gorgeous? We had a wetbar, seating area, murphy bed and two queens - it was perfect for entertaining which we did a lot of.
After we finally got settled, we went to Del Frisco's for dinner on Paraside (amazing, will go again) and then down to gamble with friends at the Hilton.

Sunday - Wednesday I did work related events, we watched the Canadian Men play at 12pm on the Sunday in the sportsbook!! We did manage to sneak off to Peepshow on the Tuesday evening and really enjoyed it! We went back to Napoleon's with our friends as well!!

March 4th we flew home, this time we left at lunchtime vs the red eye. Last year we lost the whole next day due to sleeping anyways and it sucked with kids who really wanted to see us. This time was much better, we arrived right before bedtime, so we didn't have much jet lag at all!

In the end, we came home a little bit up - which is nice. I didn't get into playing table games - but we did take a craps lesson, which just confused me even more! Maybe when I go back in March I will get more serious and learn them!! Thanks for reading ;)
