    Hi VMB,

I'll be in town on a M-T-W in October, and would like to play in one decent-sized tournament during my stay. I've been to poker atlas.com and scanned the daily tournament listings, and see several ones that interest me. Buy-in doesn't matter, anything up to $200 is fine. Aria, Venetian, Mirage, maybe Wynn look promising, I'd like to know which tournament fields the most players and/or has the biggest payout on those three days. I play enough rinky-dink tourneys at the tribal casinos back home, would hope to play one with more than two tables of the same sad faces. I realize the weekend tourneys are prolly much bigger, but can't swing a weekend trip this time. Staying downtown, will play at Binions and GN otherwise.

Also, what are your personal midweek tournament favorites?
Best, or cheapest, rake downtown? Strip?
    Hottest cocktail waitresses?
    Closest bathrooms?
    Best nearby eats?

    Thanks in advance!

ARIA. Aria daily tournaments are the best that Vegas has to offer. (Not counting the various tournament series throughout the year) They should also have the best turn out, but overall it will be kinda slow in Vegas in October. They have good cocktail service, hot waitresses, bathroom right next to the poker room, and you can order from LemonGrass ( decent thai food restaurant) at the table. Aria is a good poker room, but there alot of good players there.

Thanks, E-Z. Yes, unfortunately, my trip timing coulda been a little better this year. Now that the kids are old enough to make their own damn bologna sandwich, daddy's gonna start getting a little more "ME" time, spelled V-E-G-A-S! I've narrowed my "big tournament" down to either the Venetian daily nooner, $10,000 guaranteed, or the Aria 1pm'er. Hoping all the really good players will still be asleep at that hour, making my odds a bit better to money. See you at the payout window!

Both are great choices with big, soft fields. Personally I prefer the Aria tournament, but it does take a long time. Plan on killing the whole day there if you play deep. Or there's a 7pm option to play again if you don't make it very deep.
