So, I have the Visa, so i'm platinum and I go to look at my "offers" for our upcoming trip, get my price, then look around, and right now they have a 20% off promo which is better than the rate I am being offered. Also, I looked into the packages and the pool and hotel one is still cheaper than my offer! Anyone know if I book a Promo Package do they still comp the room at the end? Last time (the only time) we book trip and hotel together the host said they couldn't comp the room since we used Orbitz and so if we use the promo code and get the package can my room still be comped?

Just because they have upgraded you to platinum, does not mean you will get better offers. the offers are based on your play. It should help by not having to pay resort fees and some casinos have lines for platinum members.

unless you book directly ,no priceline orbitz anything like the wont comp your stay as its a 3rd party booking, the can take off your food and stuff, now ive booked travelzoo promotions which took me to there site to book directly with a promo code and i was able to have host remove the cost but it wasnt easy.

Have you looked at the rate calender instead of your "offers"? Unless you are only going for the weekend, you will have a choice with multiple hotels comped. Since you are now Platinum, the resort fee is waived. The money you save will probably be more than any packages/offers.
I get offers all the time like the pool package, but why not do the comp/waive fee combo?

I agree with this.... My rates on the calendar are always better than my offers. The calendar usually gives me 3-5 nights comped, while my offers are barely 2.

I just guess I don't know what I am doing! LOL I usually book my nights says with the Gold Coast, always comped, so I never did this hotel hunting thing. I called and got a different rate than my TR offers are saying. I also sent an email they gave me different rates too! SO that's 3 different rates and IDK why.

Just go to TR site, make sure you sign in (sometimes i have to do it twice), then go to the rates calender showing all Vegas hotels, put in the dates you would like to go (or just put in the month), and then you can compare rates for all or some that interests you. I am comped at Rio (which i already did in May), as well as Caesars and Bally's this year. The calender goes up till a year from the current month. I can book June 2014 right now because i know which hotels are comped.
You don't have to pay the resort fee because you're Platinum. I am Gold, i don't have a Host, but i am satisfied doing the rate calender because i can plan ahead up to a year. Once you are comped, you can then do the $20 trick to upgrade to a better room in the Hotel you choose.
I do realize that i usually travel solo, and you would like some dining offers, but unless the dining or whatever offers you get, nothing IMO beats a comp.

At CET in particular, always use the rate calendar and then check your offers.

Your tier has ZERO to do with offers - they are based on daily average.

If you pay somebody else for your room, the casino can not comp it.

If you have a basic offer, do not assume they will offer something more after you arrive. It is all based on play.

Biggest hint - read though some of the posts here over the past few weeks. You will find answers to questions you did not even know to ask.

Alright, well I think Im going to call them and see what they can offer me, since I have now seen 3 different rates in 24 hrs. I am so used to Gold Coast whereas I just need to call them and they hook us up for the 3-4 nights no questions asked and all our dining charges are taken off at the end of the trip. That is reason #1 why I LOVE the Gold Coast....BUT Im bringing a Vegas Virgin and figured the Strip would be the best and the Pool at Flamingo is MUCH better than the one at Gold Coast!

Log in to Total Rewards and check out the dates using the RATE CALENDAR before calling in.

I agree with this. The calendar tends to be your best rates, and you should know what it says before calling so you can know if what they are quoting you is better/worse/the same.

Here is exactly what to do:

Go to the TR home page. At the very top, you'll see a bunch of options, like "My Trips", "Contact Us" etc. Click on the one that says Reservations. Then, in the upper right corner you'll see an option to sign in - do that. In the process of doing that, make sure you have the option that says "Stay on same page" as you log in.

Once you are logged in, under destination select Las Vegas. Leave Casino on "All Las Vegas Casinos". Select "All Las Vegas Casinos Calendar". Select the number of adults. If you are travelling with someone who has their own TR account and you want to have their play taken into consideration too, add their info. Otherwise just leave all that blank. Then click View calendar. Once it delivers your results, you may have to adjust the date at the top so that your dates are shown.

Doing the above will allow you to see your best rates at all of the various CET properties. If you click on a date as your check in, it will let you pick the number of nights to see the final offered rates.

If you have any trouble following all that, let me know. This should always be the first thing you check when planning a trip, IMO.

    I check the calender FREQUENTLY

I booked us for Oct comped 3 nts plus a weekend night (rarely comped) at Harrahs & 5 nts comped in March. Did this a couple weeks ago.
Were in Vegas last week & we racked up more points than ever before--our rates are HIGHER now for these dates. (comps only at Quad)
But may get comped at better properties at some point. Have grabbed comped rooms at Caesars a couple times for reasons unknown in the past as we don't gamble there much.
I also use the calender; use your # as the main number & your spouses as the connected TR # for best rates.
