Is it me or does the room comps seem to have dried up? FYI... I am a lower tier player but I used to still get offers for rooms all the time.

If you are sharing a room make sure that individual also has a TR card.

Enter their card # in also when you are in the rate calendar - you get a better discount, and more comped rooms, with 2 TR card members in the same room.

Even if your traveling companion has never been to Vegas - if you get them to sign up for a TR card online - once you enter in their number also you will see lower prices and maybe more comp rooms.

Two days ago I went to the 30% off promo on internet expecting a good fare on October but I get the best, 4 nights comped at Bally's on a jubilee luxury room.

Are you checking the rate calendar, or just offers?

    Interesting story.

My brother wanted to spend the night at Harrahs Cherokee this week. He signed in and when on the rate calendar, sold out! I got his info, went to harrahscherokee.com and looked for a room...bam...one night comped. Super weird.

I have also noticed a lack of days comped. The wife and I are both diamond but due to the bad weather in the NE we have not been to any CET properties since Dec, 2013. Even my days at my local casino were limited. Luckily my host contacted me and we were able to get what we wanted in LV. My kids who are both low gold don't have ANY comps in LV. I am not saying they should have but in the past they always did comp them.

I'm new to total rewards but my boyfriend has had it for about a year now. He's now got room comps after just a few visits to Vegas and Reno.

I wouldn't know what to compare the offers to, but I like that they're given at all!

Cherokee stays full on weekends. Sometimes weekdays are okay. You have to have strong play to get rooms there. High demand means less free rooms. It is not a case of the casino being "tight" with rooms, but if they can get paid rooms, then....

On the TR website. First, make sure you are signed in to your account. From the main page, click "Las Vegas" at the top. On the next page , under "Book a room" on the left side, click "have flexible dates". Just select your approximate date and boom, calendar.

Where are you able to put in the other persons tr card number? I'm not seeing it on my phone, unless its on the new page they made or after you get the rooms for the days. I'm just wanting to see if it'll lower the 59 dollar rates for New Orleans since she wants to go there for our next trip.

When you search for dates, there will be a box that says "Companion's TR Card Number".

    Must be you...

I did go through a time when it seemed there were less offers, but keeping an eye open we are doing well. I am Platinum level only due to the TR Visa. I think my Tier was 4K last year.

3 trips between June 1 & Oct. 15 with 3 different travel companions.

June: 4 weeknights (could have had 5) in Jubilee Tower with Mom (she gambles the most of my 3 travel companions)

July: 4 weeknights (could have had 5) at Paris with DH. We've never been comped at Paris (but have 2x at CP--go figure)

Oct: 5 nights at Harrahs over Columbus Day weekend for $240 with BFF (she gambles the least). Felt that was reasonable over a holiday weekend with the lowest gambler. No resort fees (thank you TR Visa for extending my Platinum status one more year!

Locally I struggle to get a room for less than $50/nt at our casinos (we do probably spend more nights in a year in Vegas than locally)--so glad for the above prices.

They have completely dried up for me. I am a green chip BJ player, play craps and some video poker. Last year at the Flamingo over 4 nights I played at least 4 hours a day. I don't think I have not had room comp for at least 4 nights for the past 6 years.

I am heading to Vegas in July to see college friends at the Flamingo again. This year I am getting the 25% off rate that everyone gets even if they don't have a TR account on the rate calender. I have offers for 2 comp nights and some free play but it won't let me book it the entire month of July it is good for.

The wife and I are coming out over Thanksgiving this year and we are making the switch to Mlife.

1 - Do NOT book using an offer. Use the rate calendar.

2 - If you are not getting free rooms at CET, rest assured it will not be better at MGM.

I have always used the rate calendar in the past to get the comp nights. I have not once used an offer from the TR site or an email/mail offer. I dropped about $2500 on my last trip after having a +$1300 first day. At my level that is pretty descent amount. Sort of surprised the comp rooms at the lower/mid level CET properties stopped.

I am not expecting anything for my level of play at MGM. If all I am getting is discounted rates and paying a resort fee I would rather stay at nicer properties and not worry about putting in x amount of hours.
