We have visited Vegas a few times but only for 1 or 2 night stays and have never gotten cards because did not think we would be going back that often and never really thought to play for comps because we are very low rollers (maybe 300.00 a day between us).

Turns out the wife loves it and In Jan we spent 5 nights at MGM in the penthouse city view room. So we started out with the mlife cards. We only played slots and video blackjack at the mlife hotels. (Mainly Aria and MGM but a little at each of the others)

Wife wants to go back sometime in May so I just looked at mlife page and have a few questions.

With the room and food being on my card I ended up at
    gold with 93,001 tier credits,
    7.94 point play,
    1,374 HGS points,
    1.08 express comps.
    0 freeplay.
They did comp me 127.00 toward bill at the mlife desk before checkout.

Wife (cards are linked) ended up at
    gold 93,001 tier,
    19.37 point play,
    1,374 HGS points
    20.00 freeplay and
    1.08 express comps.

I look at our offers and no free nights but only offers for tier discounts and
reduced rates. Not really any large discounts and really not expecting to find much but wife did end up with 50.00 freeplay at Aria and MGM.

Back in Sept wife had a work trip near Biloxi and she did get a card at the Grand (Total rewards) played Slots only and very little spent. Just for kicks we looked up her account. She had
    No offers
    no tier score
    107 RC balance

Pulled up flexible dates for April/ May and she had several days scattered though out the Vegas Harrah's hotels that listed days as comped. Went to the Rio sight and looked at May12-15 and set that as reservation days and it said total was 0.00 completely comped. I thought that was crazy. So I completed booking and still 0.00.

Just wondering if this is really possible or are they going to come back and say it was a mistake? Why are we getting nothing from MGM after all that we did there but TR is offering quite a few comped nights when we did not even do much there?

There were also comped nights listed at Flamingo, Bally's, Quad. Paris and PH had a few scattered comps but not 3 nights in a row. I did make reservations at Rio but if I really have comped nights should I go with Bally's or Flamingo instead? I know most do not recommend Quad.

Rio was one of the first casino that I had regular comps at. It is still one of my favorite casino's. I go there to gamble, every time I am in Las Vegas. You might like it too.

What you see is typical for reported comps on this board. Low rolling CET customers, especially slots players, will get comped rooms for marginal play.

MLIFe customers get little to nothing for much greater play. Some cannot even get an upfront room guarantee for a rating of 20 hours of $300 per hand blackjack in five nights. That is how MGM rolls.

Book the CET reservation before the end of the day Thursday, to avoid a potential resort fee (they may add the fee for comped rooms starting with reservations booked on March 1, they will definitely add the fee for paid for rooms).

I'd book Bally's, Paris, PHo or Rio to avoid the noise and other issues with Linq construction (behind Harrah's, IP and Flamingo).

CET will not stiff you, unlike MGM which pulls aspects of their upfront offers at their discretion (such as food or other credits based on your play).

CET players should look beyond their "offers" to the rate calendars, where they will find comps not in their "offer" box. I never had offers until recently, though I booked over 30 nights free at Harrah's in Vegas and elsewhere.

It's not a mistake. It's legit, don't worry. CET is good with the room comps particularly for new members. I can't give you any advice on any of those hotels but since Rio is off strip just think long and hard about that. You won't be able to just walk out and explore the strip or hop over to another hotel that easy. The other options you mentioned are right in center strip.

I have less play than your wife and I get comped rooms at MGM properties, just not "top tier" ones like Bellagio and Aria. However, you said your first trip was January, I assume 13. When I first stayed with them, I stayed in January 2011 and didn't get my first offer until 2 quarters later, or fall of 11. It may be a lag in what is (maybe was with the new website) a very crappy computer system, or they may be waiting to see if you'll pay them to come back.

So viva.... Just how common is it for people who book offers from mgm to be stiffed? You act as though its an everyday occurrence .

It is very, very, very rare to hear of someone booking something, and being stiffed.

    Do not worry about it.

First, I would suggest any of the other CET properties just due to them being on the Strip. Having to take a cab/shuttle everytime I assume gets annoying. It is not a terrible casino though, I would just be annoyed with the location.

Second, on offers. I'm guessing MGM offers aren't even out right now outside of the base tier offers. I have plenty out through April 30, but nothing past that. I can go on TR site though and I'm guessing I have comped rooms at many places all throughout the year. TR is just better at giving offers farther out. I'm guessing you may have to wait 2-4 weeks to see anything in May or later for MLife. I don't know that for sure, it has just been my past experience. I don't get offers for the next group of months until about 1 month from the start of that time. It is annoying beyond belief. Limit me to 1 planned trip if it is such a problem, but let me book something 5 months out.

Yeah with CET I can book a trip in February of 2014 if I like. Can't with MLIFE.

What the CET resort fee rumor I hear?

I didn't comment on frequency. I'm sure many do not have issues beyond problems with the MILFe website, but I've experienced hassles with resort fees and other aspects of an booked offer not honored (or honored after a debate), I had offers booked and the pulled same/next day from MGM saying I received it "by mistake".

With MGM, others here have reported upfront promised food comps stripped during the trip / not comped at check-out, resort fees charged on comped rooms when at the time of booking they were told resort fees are waived on comps, etc. Had issues at Luxor and Monte Carlo, was issue free at their other properties.

I've never experienced or seen reported here a Harrah's guest not having whatever comp they booked with honored. It's possible, but I don't recall a post here since I joined the board nor have I heard of any issues personally or first/second hand.

The OP asked whether his CET offer was legit, and beyond the newly developing resort fee issue, I am confident Harrah's will honor his $0.00 trip rate for the nights selected. I've booked many CET offers, even after being away for long periods, and others have posted frequently here their surprise at their room comps despite very marginal slot play. It's the Harrah's way.

LOL. I booked RIO for May and Bally's for Nov. all comped and resort free. My timer reflects the necessity for booking before March 1st. to any people already desiring to go to Vegas. Time is running out.
