Just wondering if it is too damn hot out there to wear jeans at night or are they keeping the casinos extra chilly? thanks!

Casinos stay cool (normal) all the time. If you never leave the casino, you will not know if is freezing (winter) or nasty hot (summer).

Guess what I am saying that the inside of most buildings is almost the same temperature year round. Might move a degree or two. It could be 40 or 110 outside. It will be the same in the casino either way - around 70.

Agree. When I go to Vegas in the summer and people ask if it's too hot, I always that it's very temperate in the casinos. Having walked a bit on the strip, though, it would definitely be too hot for jeans for me.

Heck, half the people in Las Vegas I see out and about are wearing jeans at any one time.

I always wear jeans, even in July and am fine.

But I'm also the girl who needed a sweater on the outdoor patio of the Sugar Factory a few weeks ago.

i always wear jeans because i never go outside. if you're going to walk around outside, you will definitely want as little clothes as possible.

When I go walk outside, I usually wear just a banana hammock and some flip-flops; but indoors it's always pants this time of year!

Here is what we do and we have gone mostly when the temperature is triple digits.
Shorts during the day as we walk up/down the strip.
Once we decide to stay in our home casino and drink for the remainder of the night we switch to jeans because the casinos are so cold. Even then we may casino hope and it is not overly hot.

If I had to choose to wear only jeans or shorts for the duration of a Vegas trip any time of the year it would be jeans.

Right, plan was to get there and walk over to the Ellis island for the steak special, so I will keep the jeans for night and when we are staying indoors.

    Thanks all!

I wear jeans as little as possible, so even in the "cool" casinos I am wearing shorts. Gotta watch some of the flipflops that you wear in these hot temps. A friend of mine had his daughter get one pretty hot and nearly melted. They ended up going to a high end store at Fashion Show to buy her a new pair, guess those dollar store ones are not good for hot temps.

No matter the temp, you may want a long sleeve shirt in the casino or restaurants.

I agree with some of the other posters. Shorts during the day and jeans in the freezing casinos at night.

I find khaki slacks to be way more comfortable than jeans in the summer, and are less heavy and space-consuming in the luggage. Couldn't imagine wearing either if walking on the strip during a summer afternoon, though.

Agree! Sammasseur has the great suggestion for men. Being a woman, I prefer Capri pants (made of cotton or light materials), which can match nicely with any cute top, accessories, and a pair of comfortable walking shoes --- looking casual and trendy when you are outdoors and under Vegas' triple-digit temperature! Certainly, bring a light blazer or sweater when you stay inside the casino.

Only time I wear jeans in Vegas is at night when going out to dinner and/or a club, and that's only for aesthetic reasons. I go between May and September, so it's always far too hot during the day/evening (and usually night) to be doing much walking outside in long pants. I love that I can wear shorts at night while walking the Strip and be completely comfortable, unlike the Northeast where if it's hot enough to wear shorts at night in the summer, it's usually because it's so humid and uncomfortable, not simply because of the temperature.
