Just got a Dodge Avenger for July 7 -11th for $89 with taxes. Might want to check for your dates. No special code needed. Went through the Thrifty site.

That price is still there. No need to be rude to the guy. I rented the exact car for my May trip for the exact price.

Hit the "hot deals" button, and see what price pops up, and then come back and say you're sorry to the guy.

Thanks to the OP! I have been regularly searching for good car rental rates and had been unable to find a base rate of less than $200 (plus fees) for my dates on a mid-sized or above.

I just booked a mid-sized car on their site for $100 base rate ($164.54 out the door) for June 15 through June 20.

To find these rates, go to their site and put in your dates. In the section where each car type is listed with the price, take note if there is a button or a link in the list entitled "Hot Deals". This is the link to the promotional rate.

The OP is correct, but it probably depends on the rates. I had booked with Thrifty a few weeks ago for $23.25 per day for a mid size, but from experience, I check their website for deals frequently. Thrifty is great about modifying an existing reservation with lower posted prices.

Oddly, lately, Thrifty had been very high for my dates, in the $75 per day range. When I checked yesterday, most car classes were still in that $75 per day range except the mid size, which was $12 per day before taxes. I've NEVER seen a rate that low, so I locked in. The total with taxes is less than $90 for 4 days at the end of May.

    Glad to help out

To feeltheheat I don't have time to try and prove to you that a deal is valid. Why bother, if your interested take the time to check it out. As you found out it's a valid deal. Try not to be such an ass next time.

To every else your very welcome. I was glad to share and even went back and reserved the same deal for my December vacation.

    Thanks George.

I just booked the same deal with Dollar.

I'm going for 9 days and booked the same reservation twice.

It was $41 cheaper to book 2 reservation than if I booked it as one reservation.

I'm pretty sure we will see prices go down for our trip within 3-4 weeks of the trip but this is a good starting point.

    Thanks again !!!

Thanks for sharing George! I, also, just booked for August for 6 Days (a week pricewise), $184 out the door for Avenger OR similar. Awesome:beer:

P.S. Does anyone gag on the fact that the ridiculous amount of Taxes & Fees total about Two Thirds (or more) of the BASE Rate??

Yes, you can cancel. It is just a hold reservation...They don't even ask for a CC# at this time....The usual practice for car rentals.
