I am an old (by anyone's standards) Canadian who still visits Las Vegas twice yearly, and pretty well confine my gambling to penny slots. Very rarely do I venture to play Video poker, But on our visit last fall I chanced on to a bank of penny machines called Three Way Action, and decided to try them out.
I rather enjoyed it. Not only that, but I started gambling 90c per game, and was quite comfortable at that level. I also found that I had a few winning sessions that paid for quite a number of those where I lost my initial $10 or $20 investment, and in most cases I got a decent amount of action. These were all played at either the Gold Coast or Orleans casinos, and the level I was playing at resulted in some sessions where I racked up 300 or more Boyd points---a big help in maintaining my Sapphire rating.
I have not noticed any mention of these over the 2 or 3 years I have been regularly reading, (and occasionally contributing to) the Message Board. So thought I would ask a general question on the subject, e.g. do you ever play these machines, and what do you think of them?
My internet research indicates they have been around for a few years, and most comments seem to agree with mine that they are fun to play.

They took the one out of Caesars. There is one at Harrah's. $.25+ I like them but they can devour your bankroll if they're not paying.

The El Cortez has several 3-Way Action machines. It's the only machine I play there. They are like crack cocaine to me.

Only place I've seen these are at Boulder Station. They only have 1 or 2 of these machines and the denomination is pennies. Love playing it since I found it. They are located in the back area by the movie theaters (if you walk in from the parking garage you will pass them in an area on the left with other poker machines as you walk to the buffet and main casino area).

Last time I was there, there was a couple there; the wife playing the machine next to it, and the husband sitting in the seat for the 3-Way-Action VP machine and just watching. I really felt like telling him to move his ass since he wasn't playing but didn't really want to make a scene...should have, as I didn't have a chance to play it that trip, other than right then..

Hit this at South Point a few years ago. Too bad it wasn't a max bet but still awesome.

Yes, Gold Coast have probably 20 of them spread around 5 different areas of the casino. There are also a dozen or so at the Orleans.
The 'video porn' shown by CoveredinBeer well illustrates the possibilities of this game, and why it can be likened to crack coccaine as per DonB.
My own happiest experience with one of these was drawing a royal flush with my first draw on a spin, and then automatically getting it again when I turned over the last two cards.
This isn't a crack cocaine reaction, (don't know what that would be) but I do start to salivate these days when I look forward to a an additional 8 day trip to the Orleans we are taking starting May 27. I will definitely get in lots of 3-way Action there and the Gold coast during this visit. Mind you, a special celebration of our recent 60th Wedding Anniversary plus my 85th birthday will be on the agenda, too.

I had a very lucky streak on this machine and I can only find this one picture. I was playing for $.02, max coin and hit this. Ended up cashing out for $1,700 for the session. It was a good day. It was at the El Cortez.
