    Hi Everyone!

New to the board, but have been to Vegas several times, but not since 2011. Looking to go in April. I have never stayed downtown, so thinking of staying at Golden Nuggest April 22-24, and Cosmo 24-27. Since I do not have comps, where are people finding the best rates? There are 2 of us (I'm 44, he's 40), both of us have been, but first trip together...It's a 40th Bday trip for him!

    Thanks!

Looking forward to chatting with you all!

    Sherry

I'd recommend booking directly with the hotel, not a third party. If any changes come up, you've got some way to change dates. Also you may have more sway in purchasing an room upgrade at check in or at least get a more desirable room location. You may also get better offers in the future if that's important.

I think you have chosen wisely. While I have never stayed there, the GN is the class of downtown and a fun place to eat, drink and gamble. If I could afford it, I think I would always want to stay at the Cosmo. I spent my 50th birthday there with a Wraparound Terrace Suite which my friends and I all agreed was the best room ever. Since it is a special occasion, I would recommend buying the best room you can afford and, as the other person said, you want to try to do it through the hotel. It gives you much more flexibility and, if you gamble enough, will give you a chance to comp all or part of your stay. Since your Cosmo stay won't be on the weekend, I hope you can afford at least a Terrace Studio as the views are breathtaking.

Sounds like an awesome idea. I've always wanted to do this, but hubby doesn't like to switch up hotels. He's a lame!

Cosmo is running a 20% off special if you book 60 days or more in advance. Have fun; we love the Cosmo!
