Headed back to LV in January. Nice offer from Flamingo...so staying there part of trip. Have stayed at a lot of LV strip hotels...but never Flamingo before. Looking for room suggestions, hidden gems, tips, problems, etc. Any help is much appreciated!

Go rooms are the better room. If you have that booked, fine. If you don't & receive a pre-stay upgrade offer, you may want to consider it. Otherwise you can try the $20 trick at check-in. I love the GO rooms.

There is a Gold check-in line - watch for the signs. If you are Platinum, you check in at the Diamond room to the left of check in. Do not wait in the long standard lines. Obviously you are already a card-holder if you received an offer.

20% discount at breakfast at Margaritaville (yes they have a good breakfast and good coffee). You also get ???15% off retail all day - make sure you ask for it if they don't offer it. You can room charge at Margaritaville but for retail you have to go get a comp slip for the store (if you have enough points to redeem).

The café actually is pretty good. Mom & I went & had steak and eggs later one night and a few nights later she actually asked to go back there because it was good and really hit the spot.

I am very 'odor' sensitive but the only place I can smell the coconut smell is at the retail entry to the Margaritaville casino & at the entry right by the small liquour store. I have to just move about 15 feet away & I am fine.

Drink service is very quick in the Margaritaville casino - they don't cover as much of a floor area. In main casino it can be spotty at times, but once you have tipped & smiled at them they come back regularly. I can always tell when shift change is as there seems to be about a 45 minute gap with no service.

I am normally upgraded to a strip view. However I hate the ones that are dead on to Caesars - if the club is running (probably not during your trip) outside it can be noisy late into the night. I prefer a garden view or a south facing view (from a higher floor). The south view will display the fountain shows. Garden view I just find quieter and more peaceful, although once noise starts from the Linq street, that may quickly change.

Some Go rooms have a shower only (strip facing) while others have a shower & a tub (garden & I believe all south view ones).

I have never had a problem that wasn't resolved within minutes. We did have a squeaky bathroom slider door that needed WD40 - but we were just 'duh....' - when we left in the morning we kept forgetting to call. Obviously it wasn't ruining our vacation! Otherwise I had a toilet back up once (they were up in about 10 minutes) and another time my co-worker locked herself out of the room in her pink leopard print PJ's (HA HA!!!)

The buffet gets trashed a lot but seriously I have never had a bad meal there. Love to watch the flamingos thru the window. Is Paris better? Of course. Is Planet Ho better? My bff thinks so - I actually do not lol!!

I agree with everything Jgates said. The Flamingo is where my husband and I love to stay. Great location, GO rooms are nice, good games (for us), everyone is friendly, etc.

Make sure 100000% you get a GO room. I wouldn't stay in a FAB room ever. Yes, check for the (lowest tier) Gold check inline, nobody uses it for whatever reason...I definitely by passed 50 people when I was there.

Don't expect much, the place is old, lots of strange odors and things... last time my room and the halls smelled like BO it was gross. It's fine for just a place to sleep.

Check out the Margaritaville casino, lots of new games and it's much nicer to play in there.

Donnie & Marie is an awesome show if you are in to cheesy Vegas variety shows!

Personally, I wouldn't eat there... at any of the establishments. Nothing sounds good to me, and I've heard a lot of bad things.

If you are driving be warned the parking garage is small and can fill to capacity.

It's funny because you are going to hear polar opposite opinions on Flamingo, which probably means it's really hit and miss.

We stayed there over Christmas break last year...
We got a "Fab" room for $8 per night (just for signing up for a TR card we got those rates)
Not bad at all...not SUPER FANCY...but hell, all we do is sleep in our room.

I've also been to a wedding party that was in a GO Suite (overlooking Bellagio Fountains) it was OK...nothing to write home about...

Yes to the Gold check-in line. Either nobody notices or 99% of the people don't even have a player's card yet. The GO rooms are the best, but I've stayed in a Fab room and nothing was particularly bad. It was big and seemed to need another piece of furniture; the floors were bare, not carpeted.

    Yes!!

The steak house is top notch. Also a decent breakfast can be had at the Cafe. The buffet is average, but nothing bad about it.

Gold check in and I've stayed in a FAB room which wasn't the best and not the worst. It was clean and good enough to pass out

Just checked out this morning from 3 nights in a GO room at the Flamingo, everything was great. I disagree with the above poster 'not to stay in a FAB room ever' ... I've stayed in one a couple of times and the room was newly remodeled but the bathroom wasn't. But it was very clean and really no reason to diss this room, if you get one don't worry about it.

I prefer the GO rooms as the bed in the FAB room seemed much harder to me. I also like the bigger tv in the GO room and the refrig.

Evidently there was a plumbing/sewer issue in the summer, but everything this trip was the same as during my early July trip. Casino bathrooms were open, food court going strong, only thing I smelled was the wonderful coconut smell that smells like vacation! Drink service was frequent and fast, I play VP in the area near the poker room and those waitresses work it well.

    Enjoy your trip!

Does the resort fee come with complimentary access to the spa amenities?

I'm a low-roller, so I love to play at Flamingo, but my upcoming trip will be the first time I stay there. Got a FAB room for 17/nt (TR rate), so we're staying virtually for free. I've only eaten at the buffet once, but I remember having an absolutely delicious breakfast there a few years ago. Of course, I was hungover and needed a bacon infusion STAT, so that might have made a difference :)

This will mainly be a beer and football trip with my best friend. My memory is a little fuzzy... how is the sports book at Flamingo? Is there a better place to sit and watch games nearby? Preferably a bar w/ video poker so I can drink some free beers, keep an eye on my wagers and hopefully rake it in!!

The sports book is tiny. It used to be bigger but they built a restaurant there and took away about 2/3 of the sports book seating.

We just got back from the Flamingo and loved it. Wasn't too big, but not too small. People were fantastic there, and just had a fun vibe. Room was spotless (stayed in GO room), bathroom fun. I have no complaints about our stay at all. Would probably stay there again if we went back to Vegas. Except my husband said he wants to stay downtown next time. Less walking, more partying. haha

Spa as in massage, hair, nail and such....no. Those are open and expensive to everyone. If you mean the fitness center, then yes. The resort fee gives you free entry.

Loved my stay here. Stayed in a Go Lux with strip view room. Room 26046. 2 queen beds in each we both could watch the Bellagio fountains. Loved waking up...making coffee...then opening the curtains by hitting a switch on the wall to see the strip. Housekeeping was great...they wanted to clean even when we said no.

Played in the casino and had a great time over my 6 days. I didn't win big but I won enough to add to my daily budget which put me way ahead.

The buffet is only good for breakfast . Sorry but dinner is very sad.

Staff was awesome....could not do enough to help me.
Loved the vibe there. If you want 5 stars this isn't the place. If you are looking for a fun place to be without HUGE expectations this IS the place you want to be. Walk from my room to the strip was 10 minutes.

Loved loved margarita vill..Food was great and the people were great and the casino was great. As a low roller...I will be back at the Flamingo for my next vacation.
