    Another wheel proposed.

    http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2013/mar/20/does/

I thought one was going to be enough, I mean I don't see that thing bringing good business for even a couple years. waiting for some action on when the first one will close.

Not trying to be negative about them, its just my opinion

We seriously need a facepalm emoticon on this board sometimes.

In all honesty I am happy to hear that stretch of land has a new owner and they are looking to do something with it. It's always seemed out of place to me in it's current state.

Maybe if it was a 200 foot "WHEEL OF FUTURE" and you could play it...then it might interest me.

I don't know why anyone would consider another wheel. Isn't SLS ditching their roller coaster? Why not move it or do some other type of thrill ride? Kudos for the commissioners who are calling BS on the copycat business proposals like the wheels and stadiums.

I thought the roller coaster at Sahara was already sold and was going up near Mandalay (maybe even the site of the other wheel).

Does it count as 3 wheels when one of them is just being proposed now, and another one has long since run out of money and stopped building?

Linq is getting done. The others at the moment live in the same dreamville as about 15 other proposed wheels that never happened.

OK, so I'll go up in the Harrah's Linq wheel, you go up in the SkyVue wheel at Mandalay, and someone else go up in London Thrill wheel, and we'll all wave at each other...or do morse code with flashlights....or moon each other

Maybe they can dress up the wheels like roulette wheels, one with single 0 and the other with double 0..........

Maybe they can make one more, and when the wheel phase wears off, they can make a giant car

I know it's not the same, but keep in mind the Paris Eiffel Tower is like 450 feet high at the observation deck, so it's almost the same thing as these wheels, it just doesn't move at 1mph every few minutes as people enter and exit a car, and it's view is going to be better than any of these wheels based on location, right on strip.

There actually was a dude named Ferris that invented it. He was a contemporary of and competitive with Mr. Eiffel about building big stuff, (also true). The first Ferris wheel was a lot like these huge 'observation wheels' they are building in Vegas, not the kind you see at the carnival.

Do you mean The London Eye?

To my knowledge we only have one of these so far but there is talk of other major cities having one such as Manchester.

The one we do have is awesome, I have been on it once would have no hesitation going again to accompany some one else. Best on a clear warm day.
If you build one, if you do it right, if it's in the right place ( views of the Thames and London life you wouldn't normally get ) and it's popular why the hell would you want three? And the one we have doesn't cost the earth to go on either about $26 roughly.
Now we have The Shard, haven't been up that one yet as the observation lounge hasn't been open long. Roughly $38 entry  so I'm not rushing

Or how about if they rig the wheels like Wheel of Fortune. People pay $1.00 to press a button that gets that wheel going. When the wheel stops who-ever is on the ground gets to get off. All the others get to suck wind...:evillaugh

Manchester already has a wheel. I walk past it every day but have never been tempted. It seems to do quite well with tourists though.
