How often do you leave a machine and watch somebody hit big as soon as they sit where you just played? It happens all the time to me, especially in LV. Ive witnessed a $1500, $4500 and a whopping $12,000. Not to mention(I guess I just did) multiple 3 figure payouts within minutes of me leaving.
At first I was hoping I was on some kind of hidden camera show but that was never the case. I must provide tons of entertainment to the eye in the sky workers.
Now my rule is to get up and walk, walk, walk as far away as I can. Does anybody else do this? Or have the same curse as I do?

#1 Rule is to never look back!

The reality is though, even if you were playing it, you probably would not have hit the same jackpots anyway. The machines are controlled by a random number generator.

I agree. Once done I am gone.
Now I did want to play this one specific machine, went to tell my wife where I will be (didn't have a cell phone at the time with text) when I returned to play there was a person there already getting a hand pay.

Next time you want to leave, go through all the motions. Cash out and sit there a few minutes, then put some money back in like you are a new player.

lol, I actually do that sometimes. 1 time at Rivers Casino in pgh I was playing Jungle Wild, played $40, lost, got a beer, played $20, left, went back to see a young girl betting 60cents hitting the bonus spins for $200 each. I think she cashed out at $1000.
I even play with no card sometimes so the machine wont know its me playing.
I cant help not to laugh.

The fact that the exact instant you (or the next guy) hits the spin button determines the outcome, any jackpot the next guy gets was definitely not yours.

However, I had a similar experience (where I was the next guy) playing Ultimate Texas Holdem. The guy at first base was playing a lot ($400/$500 a hand, $100 on the Trips), and doing pretty good, but then lost a bunch of hands in a row and leaves. I was at second base. The very next hand I get 'his' cards, (which is true for that very next deal, the 5-card flop is dealt first, then the first player gets the next two cards), and I get quad 6s!! Luckily, he was long gone and didn't see this happen.

One time in West Virginia, I feel like I sat down at the wrong machine. Why?

Because a lady sat down next to me after I started playing, and hit a whopping $697,000 Ca$hola multi-state progressive!!! (9 line quarter machine, max bet $2.25)

    That's why.:Þ

That said, I've had people give me hell for winning $500 just after they got up from a losing session. Happened twice, if I remember correctly.

If you lick the screen, you are guaranteed a jackpot.

    Also try:

Burning a $20 bill in the ashtray.

Dancing and singing "The Twist" by Chubby Checker.

Strip to your underwear and say a long and loud prayer to the Rat Pack.
