    My Trip Report

This is my frist shot at a trip report... bare with me

Back on April 6th, I won this trip to LV from videopkoer.com in their first annual video poker Extravaganza tournament – air for 2, limo transfers, $500. and four nights at Signature. The Signature room was beautiful. It was a one bedroom suite tower 1on the 17th floor. This residence belongs to the owner of action gaming Ernie Moody the “inventor of multi play video poker†needless to say, it was NICE. After our stay there, we moved to Encore for 2 comped nights. 5/8 – 5/14

    Food:

    Fiamma at MGM ~
We both chose the spring tasting menu, very good. Mine was Grilled Scallops, Spinach,Crispy Onions, Smoked Bacon Vinaigrette, Gnocchi - Maine Lobster, Baby Portobello, Black Truffle Crema and for dessert tartufo. DH had the Market Baby Lettuces, Gorgonzola Pistachios, Pears, White Balsamic, Grilled Skirt Steak, Potato Puree, Spinach, Red Wine Reduction and also the tartufo. It was $45. pp plus drinks and tip $189. (Excellent choices).

RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay ~
Both had the roasted corn chowder with lobster. Yum! I again chose day boat scallops, just ok. DH had the small seafood sampler platter it had lobster, oysters, clams, shrimp, mussels and seafood salad.
All the seafood was chilled, and he "should" have asked the “market price†when he ordered ($75.) he says it was not worth the price. No room for dessert this time. Bill was $198.With drinks & tip. Won’t be going there again, it was just ok.

The Buffet at Wynn. ~ What can I say that has not been said before, great. (comped)
The Earl of Sandwich. ~ Quick and easy. Ham & Cheese sandwich and Hawaiian BBQ chicken sandwich.
Golden Gate ~ for shrimp cocktails
The café at the drugstore Encore ~ sandwiches were very good. Great for lunch and snacks. Macaroons were yummy.

    Society Café at Encore ~
I had the roasted tomato bisque and the special lobster pot pie. Both were fantastic.
DH had the tasting menu ($40.pp). Mac & cheese bites, petite filet mignon and warm donuts bites
Everything was great. $186. With drinks & tip. Well worth it and service was great.

    Gamming: in one word ~sucked

We both played video poker about 85%of the time (DDB only) both hit many 4oaks but never aces and never a royal and moved around the slots for awhile. Even tried triple play (ddb) for nickels at encore of course that’s where I hit my only aces with a kicker. WAH!
Only the first night were we up around $200. when we finally called it a night at 3am. From then on, it was all down hill. Most of the slots we played were the multi line. We both love star trek. I liked playing wizard of oz. We both did good on those games. We tried ebay for the first time, we both
Put in 20 bucks and after about 40 mins. I cashed out $720. and him $200 he was down to 21 cents and was waiting for it to let him cash out (countdown)when I got to spin. He got to cash in on my bonus round, pretty damn good. That was the best we did the whole time. Played the dean martin slots, he never
sang to me as Elvis used too. Hit a few other slots I’ve never played before but sad to say they weren’t kind to me (us). I will say we play normally quarters and occasionally dollars. A lot of the time here this time we played penny and nickel slots, made no difference we lost it just as fast. We like to play at VP bars in the evening. We spent a lot of time at them and each time the results were the same nada! But the drinks were always flowing very freely (except at Wynn resorts $).

Went to a few (5) casinos downtown. Not much, luck there. Went to the Freemont Was hoping for a repeat of my royal from last year, but alas it was not meant to be after about 5 hrs. Downtown. One afternoon we took the shuttle from the fashion show mall to The M resort. Really nice place, too bad is so far off the strip I would like to spend time there each time we are in Vegas. Though I don’t like having to take shuttles I guess it’s worth the trip. I will not pay the outrageous cab fare to get there (the shuttle was free). Spent most of the time at the MGM casino at night and then the 2 days at Encore we just went between Wynn and Encore. One night we did see Steve Wynn walking around the casino floor with a female companion.
All in all, I would say the Signature was a beautiful place, but I would rather stay where there is housekeeping on a daily basis. The Encore rooms are really nice but why are there no shelves or ledge of some sort in the showers for the soap or shampoo? Would I stay there again, maybe if it’s comped.
And after this trip I assume it will be. Hopefully we will be back in Oct. for father in laws 75th. Keeping my fingers crossed for that.

So to sum it all up we loved every minute of the trip and yes, we are huge LOSERS! (Ooh. Surprise, surprise). Only good things to come in the future. (Ha!) Yet again, we spent $15 a day on Starbucks (you would think we were home (though that would only cost us $9 a day) ah, to be on vacation. LOOKING FORWARD TO BE BACK IN LV! Oct. can't come fast enough for me.

Thanks for the trip report it was a fun read. On a side note, there is a ledge in the showers at Encore, in fact it goes all around the room. Our shower also had a food rest for shaving. Were you in a standard room?

Sorry to hear that this wasn't a winning trip; maybe next time. There is no maid service at the Signature? Or does it just come every other day?

    gmoney 590 ~

No. we were there four days. On the 3rd day we called down for
housekeeping because we were running out of towels and when
housekeeping called back they said they could come up for $150.
and do a deep cleaning (what ever that meant, we said no). There
was a washer and dryer in the master bath so I just did the towels myself.

LV Lady ~ I guess we were in a standard room. beacause there was a ledge on the floor of the shower,
and no foot rest. Kind of a pain to have to keep all your stuff on the shower floor.

Did you book the Signature privately with the owner? I've stayed at the Signature several times and each stay I've had daily housekeeping. I've even had turndown service on one stay, but I did have to request it. I've booked with the Signature directly and with Luxury Suites Intl. its never been an issue.

The whole housekeeping issue can be summed up in the trip report:

"This residence belongs to the owner of action gaming Ernie Moody the “inventor of multi play video poker” needless to say, it was NICE."

It wasn't a room booked through MGM and from what I read on some of the vacation rental websites, MGM no longer offers daily maid service to condo owners. Owners & rental agencies usually work with renters to determine how often they'll want service during the trip and factor that into the rental price. Since this was a freebie, obviously donated to the contest it's not much of a surprise that it did not include daily maid service. However, in my opinion that should have been explained upfront. It sounds like this wasn't explained and like any other visitor would assume daily maid service would be provided like any other hotel room.
