I like this game for a number of reasons...

    1. Basically, you can't tick off other players like in "21" for taking an extra card they could have used.
    2. Your odds and the house's of winning on the first card are about 46%.

One thing I have learned...never be the only player at the table against the dealer. I've done full table and also done alone...and it seems I lose more when I take on the dealer one-to-one.

Anyone else have any advice on this game?

Good luck if you can win at that. I have never played and I have never seen anyone win. The dealers I have seen dealing it seem mind numbingly bored with it.

When my girlfriend and I went our first couple times that (and roulette, big six and slots) is all she'd feel comfortable playing. She actually got me hooked in the sense that I saw it as my personal ATM machine. She didn't like blackjack because it made her nervous and was scared of losing people money when sevening out.

So when we did couples gambling time it was slots, casino war, big six and roulette.

Those two trips I don't recall having a losing session and once at MGM we went on a tear where we won a couple hundred bucks.

I haven't played in years because she hasn't been with me when I go.

I watched a college kid, about 4 years ago, walk up to the Casino War table with his last $5 chip. He had over $500 in front of him before I had to move on.

My last visit at the Wynn, i saw a guy playing war for 10k a hand at three spots. He was getting beat up pretty good.

I think the house edge on the game is like 2.7% so its not the worst bet out there.

The main issue with this game is that the speed of the game (number of hands per hour) applies that house edge against the player many more times per hour than the other games.

The first time I saw Casino War I put $100 down just for fun and a few minutes later walked away with $1000.

    It seemed so easy.

I came back to the table a little later and decided to play it for real. I took out a 10k marker to start and lost it in minutes playing 1k per hand.

I almost lost another 10k too. I was quickly down to 5k and then went all in. Won that hand and took the 2nd marker back.
