Lurked around the boards for awhile.

I've been to Vegas more times than I can count. However, I've noticed during my absences over the years, that the $4.99 or $5.99 steak dinner at 3am seems to have gone missing...

Is this still available? Anywhere? The $5.55 (I think?) one at Orleans is about all I could find.. but I have no idea if it's ANYWHERE near worth it to make it over there...?

    Anyone?

How about breakfast at Southpoint? The steak was great.

The steak special is still available at Ellis Island for $7.95...incl steak, potato, green beans, salad, bread, and a beer.

Victorian Cafe at Bill's still offers midnight specials, which includes at least a steak and eggs special.

    Steak and Eggs Special

The steak and egg breakfast special is very good at the Ellis the last time I had it, it cost 4.95. Not sure if it went up. Enjoy!

If you are downtown, there is a 24/7 Ham and egg special at the Golden Grill at the Gold Spike. Huge piece of hamsteak, eggs, hash brown and toast for 4.99.

According to that website, the Ellis Island Steak Special has gone up to 9.99!
    I hope that is wrong!

I do like the sound of that all you can eat fish and chips at the Irish pub at the JW Marriot. Looked everywhere for good fish and chips in Vegas until I came across Ri Ra Irish Pub at Mandalay Bay in January. Irish pubs do the best fish and chips, generally.

It would also be good to see what is happening to the old Rampart Casino whilst I am there, as I believe the ownership is now being merged with the JW Marriot hotel.

Just checked yelp. As of 5/5 the steak special is 7.99. Not to worry!

Do ya'll know when/if they brew their IPA? I haven't tried that one yet.

I hope it stays at $7.95 but I just read on the finance page yesterday that the cost of cattle has almost doubled since last year. With the cost of fuel ,feed and cost of cattle, steaks (beef) has only one place to go and that is up. Just go to your own grocery store, expensive. It's the same in Vegas. At $7.95, I will have 2-3 specials in 7 days on my next trip. I've been to Vegas over 30+ times and it's been a while since I have seen a real $5.99 steak special. As posted earlier, you can get a small cheap steak and eggs graveyard but not a real steak. Inflation never ends. Good Luck and enjoy your trip.

Sometimes these steak specials are hit and miss, lol! A while back (2 yrs.?) the cafe at the Cal had a $4.99 NY steak special on their graveyard shift. Pretty good. Last trip not so good, and the cost went up to $6.99 I think...

I have not had a bad piece of prime rib at Ellis Island or El Cortez or Magnolia's.
I went just once so far to the Gold Spike and got a pretty tough piece.
However, those blueberry pancakes for breakfast were great, and I not one who usually likes pancakes.

The prime rib at the spike is not as good as elsewhere, but it's bigger portion and cheaper, so depending on what you value, it's an option.

    Arizona Charlies Breakfast Steak special

Arizona Charlies (both locations, Decatur and Boulder) has a great breakfast steak special. Their cafe, Sourdough Cafe, was voted “Best Breakfast Special” in the Las Vegas Review-Journal Reader’s Poll for the 4th year in a row........ Steak or Ham & Eggs breakfast – includes choice of steak or ham, two eggs, hash browns and toast. Their price is $3.99 as long as you have their players card. I have had their breakfast many times over the years, (it used to be $2.99) and it is excellent. The ham steak is great also, and it is huge !
