I tend to clean up after myself at hotels but the hub seems to just throw stuff away and around the room as needs be.

We left the sheets all over the place one visit but you know how that goes... :wink2:

    Yes, we left a tip.

I think once I forgot to bundle the dirty towels up on the bathroom floor... and spilled some juice on the bed once.

I am a neat freak and hate leaving messes and always leave HK a tip....

My wife and I got married in Vegas, had the reception in our suite at TI. And the combined night before the wedding parties. Anyway, we went to Albertsons and bought 5 cases of beer, shrimp trays, fruit trays, you name it to feed a crowd and decided the best way to do it was to ice down the big bath tub. By the end of day three, there were quite a few "floaters" in the tub. We drained the tub, cleaned up the mess a little and tipped the housekeeper $100.

We went all out, even had a Tom Jones impersonator come in for the music, since then he became a headliner. If you didn't have fun at our wedding, there was something wrong with you.

I've been drinking tonight, so beware of the complete TMI......... (stop reading, if you don't want a total TMI story!!! lol)

My husband (just boyfriend at the time) and I went on our first vaca together. I had an offer from NYNY, comped room, limo, etc. On our 2nd night, we.... um... got busy... for a very long session... and somewhere in the middle of it, my "monthly friend" arrived. We got done and OMG, it looked like a murder scene from CSI. We took the sheets into the bathroom and threw them in the shower. We were lucky they were cheap and cleaned up quickly under water. We cleaned up all the sheets completely but they were all wet. I can't remember exactly what we left, but it was at least $50 for housekeeping that day! We were very glad for a new sheet set the next day! LOL

Ever since then, I've been very cognizant of never leaving any mess ever again! I put all trash away, put towels in a pile, etc.

Everything clean and no service needed during my stay. On the last day all dishes are washed and put away, counters wiped down. Sheets off the bed, trash in the trashcan, towels piled together in a pile on the bathroom floor.
I keep everything as much in order as possible.

I agree. Another thing I do is wipe everything down upon arrival. I will stop at a store and buy cleansers and do a quick wipe down of the room and clean the tub and sink. This last visit even with my wipe down I called management and had my room cleaned again as some of the areas were not clean to standard.
I have never tipped even though I plan to it just never happens.

A LOOONG time ago, a friend and I went to Reno (we were just 21) and we stayed at Motel 6 (we were cheap!)
The bastards wouldn't fix our toilet (wouldn't flush!) or move us!
So, we did the only rational thing would could think of...we shit in the tank. (of course we only stayed in the room a few hours)

I never leave a mess. We just had a big party in our suite for hubby's birthday. I had HK leave me large garbage bags before the party so I could clean up.
