Thanks Porker. I sent an email to the Linq and got this reply today:

"At this time the Resort Fees are not being waived due to renovations at the property. The Resort Fees are not exclusively for the use of the Fitness Center, but include other amenities which can be accessed as well."

Looks like they are charging resort fees.

Damn. Was really hoping I got lucky... Guess I'll have to redeem that luck in other places! Here's hoping for fast drink service and loose machines

Porker, would you please post here if you happen to NOT get charged resort fees? Thanks!

If any of the "amenities" that are supposed to come with the resort fee aren't available due to renovations or remodeling, you have a case to speak with a manager and request you don't get charged the fee. No one ever said you had to use them, but if they advertise the fee and what comes with it, then don't deliver, why should you have to pay? Just be careful what you sign ;)

    Hey Everyone,

I am the original poster in regards to my experience with the resort fee at the LINQ.
Just wanted to post specifically what happened with the fee at time of check-in.

Upon arriving, we were not aware that there was no working spa or fitness center in the building. In fact, we called a week earlier to inquire about spa facilities as we were trying to determine what to pack.
We were told “yes” we have a spa.

At check-in, there was no mention of a resort fee. Didn’t try to collect it…Didn’t offer reason why not. I was the first to bring it up because I wasn’t going to pay it and wanted that to be clear before I left the front desk.
I expected it to be waved because we are Platinum and we booked before 10/11, the suppose it start date for collecting resort from guest, except Diamond and above at all CET properties.

The response was “We don’t have a resort fee here”. I just said, “Oh, Ok”. That was good enough for me, I wasn’t interested in investigating the in and out of why, I just wasn’t paying it.
There was never a discussion about a resort fee or even the fact that there was no working facility on property, just the simple response stated above.

It wasn’t until we wandered around the sixth floor looking for a spa, and found none, that we went to the desk to inquire. That’s when we we’re told our only option was to go to the Flamingo, and pay a small fee there. It was my assumption that there was no fee because there are no facilities.

To “shock’s” point. I read the fine print on the email reservation provided to us and it states, “the resort fee includes access to the fitness room at “OUR SPA” for up to two guests” Technically, they don’t have a spa, Flamingo does…

Hope this helps with the discussion. JW
