Just wondering how far mandalays regular pool area is from "the hotel" and if in general it is a LONG walk to everything? (the buffet, pool, casino). The regular suites at "THE" hotel look gorgeous... but are they worth it for us late 40 somethings to get the nice room and then have to walk 4EVER to anything in the Mandalay Bay area:confused2: We have a great rate , otherwise i would just get an upgraded room in mandalay bay tower...we have stayed there many times and the rooms are looking dated already, thought we'd try "THE" hotel this time. We like the mandalay pool, and dont care about the "club" atmosphere in the other pool areas.... just a nice "quiet" pool and a cool drink! ( I know, ... in Vegas, the pool areas are turning into a party atmoshere) nothing wrong with that,... but this is just me and hubby ...just want a couple hours of "relaxation"..by beach area and am hoping its not a "billion" miles away from "THE" hotel. :rolleyes2:

THEHotel is just the top floor of MB, so it's no longer a walk anywhere than any other room. just a slightly longer elevator ride from the bottom, but with your own elevators. it's not like the Signature that's out in the back 40.

Incorrect. I've stayed there (and loved it). THEhotel is a multi-story tower on the far NW corner of the MB resort. And, it's actually closer to Luxor's pool than to MB's pool. But, it's not too much of a hike to be a deal breaker. IMHO - no one tops MB's pool area - there's something there for everyone.

    Bottom line: Worth the walk.

It takes about one minute to walk from the THEhotel elevators to the casino and about another minute or so to walk through the casino to the front desk lobby area of Mandalay Bay. I don't actually know where the pool/beach area is, but it's somewhere off the main lobby, I think.

I imagine it's a long walk if you're dressed just in a bathing suit and not in shape, but otherwise I don't think it's a hike, although the pool area itself is large.

The Four Seasons hotel is what's on the top of MB.

Agree with Chucks estimate of walk time. We are in our early 50s and have stayed numerous times at THEhotel, (and a comparable number of times at the Four Seasons). Just wear an indoor-appropriate coverup and you'll be fine crossing the casino floor. Suggest after entering the casino from THEhotel you proceed along the side of the casino with House of Blues restaurant. Then make a hard right (past the tattoo shop) at the MB logo store, cut across lobby area and proceed to stairs/elevator to the pool level.

    Enjoy!

Not a far walk at all. The regular MB tower is closer to the pool but THEHotel is well worth checking out! It seems to be a bit older crowd at THEHotel. Maybe more 30's/40's and less 20's. Very calm and cool vibe.
The walk (not much of a walk) is well worth it.

    TheHotel for us!

We will be staying at TheHotel Oct 17-22. I'm hoping the pools will still be open!

As others have pointed out, it is not a bad walk at all, and well worth it in my opinion.

TheHotel is across the casino from the main MB room elevators, and the access to the pool is just below that. I had a link to the casino map, but can not find it right now.

Just googled it, here you go

Yes, a bit of a walk, but worth giving it a shot. We have done suites in both places... tend to prefer MB, but really about equal.

If you are not carrying big floaty blow ups and lots of kids it's quite a pleasant walk, and starbucks is halfway between.
the Hotel is so much better than ANY MB room it's worth it.

For instance the MB 1500 suite at MB we stayed in last week didn't even have a coffee maker, every standard room at The hotel has a coffee maker, a seperate livingroom and bedroom and 1.5 bathrooms. It's pure pampering!!

It's, at most, two minutes longer walk than the regular rooms at MB.

THE Hotel is awesome. You won't be disappointed; especially if you like the regular MB rooms and the MB resort in general.

ONE MB pool is open year round.....I don't think it's heated, either (we've been there a couple Februarys the past few years for a convention - I've sat at the pool but when I stuck my hand in - it was cold! Though it was in the 60s outside - lovely weather, and if the pool had been a little warmer....)

If you don't want to walk through the casino (much) you can walk out the valet entrance to TheHotel, and across the sidewalk of the parking lot into a restaurant entrance for MBay, walk past a couple restaurants on the fringe of the casino and to the elevator. We did this to get to the convention center and avoid casino crowds.

I agree with what everyone said. Not a long walk at all. The Hotel is well worth it. Another plus is that The Hotel elevators are fast and never crowded. I have heard (and seen) about lines at the MB elevators. Whenever we walked past the MB elevators it looked like quite the mess.

I've found the MB pool to stay open until the end of October. They leave the one open but I think they go full steam until then. Pretty much any place I've stayed at stays open until November 1st.

THEhotel is awesome! And to be quite honest, EVERYTHING is kind of a hike at Mandalay Bay haha. I didn't find it too difficult to get out of THEHotel and merge right into the Mandalay stuff.
