Okay, so how are the pools? We are in our late 40's, (did I just say that OUTLOUD again???)! Anyway, I know theres a club type pool, but what about a simple nice place to just chill... otherwise we will head over to Mandalay Bays pools, though not quiet sometimes... but they DO have umbrellas, whereas, someone else said THE hotel does NOT? hard to believe in 100 degree temps. that they would charge you for umbrella use... or they have a "paid'" area where you can use umbrellas... but it IS Vegas... and they nickle and dime you for everything... NOTHING surprises me! :rolleyes2: thanks again for your comments... it really helps us decide... now I need a shortcut to Mand. Bay pool, so I dont have to cut thru casino... I HATE when hotels do this!:grrr: Perhaps there is a certain floor or room area I should request that will make the "hike' not so long to get around. But, as someone said... not to big of an issue, ... i mean.. i AM IN VEGAS !! Whoo Hoo !!

There are no separate pools for the THE Hotel. You have access to MB pools only.

As the previous poster said there is only one pool complex at MB for both places. You do have to cut through the casino to get there if you're at The Hotel. It isn't bad through, you stick to the side of the casino and it's not right through the middle.

I'm in my 40's and think the vibe is quiet enough. I don't think you can get an umbrella. There is a roped off area with seats and umbrellas but I'm not sure how to qualify to get in there. It's some sort of VIP section.

You can avoid much of the casino by walking out the door at thehotel valet entrance and crossing on the sidewalk to the MBay restaurant entrance.

    A big Thank YOU!!

Thanks for the "shortcut" tip... any one remember anything about the umbrella situation? My hubby is fair skinned and he is much more comfortable with an umbrella on him, at least a little bit... whereas, i like the full sun... not too easy to find such a laying out arrangement... I stayed at Mandalay Bay a few times, and now that i think about it.. he never even came down to pool with us, only once for about a half hour and now I cant remember if there were any umbrellas? I do remember the small area where they CHARGE you for better chairs and perhaps umbrellas? Seems silly, but considering he is fair skinned and I am darker... just wondering if i will have to pay for "shade".:faint:

From what I saw you have to pay for shade. Although, a few times we got to the pool as soon as it opened. At that time you can grab a few lounges that are by the lazy river in the shade. They are only in the shade for a few hours. By noon, you are in the blazing sun again. Worth a shot if you don't mind going to the pool early. Although we were there in September, so the shade situation might be different at other times of the year. :licklips:
