    What is within limping distance?

I like that, it explains a lot.

I consider PH/Paris/CityCenter to be the heart of the strip. I know it's probably not really the center. But, I feel thats the best location for walkability.. at least to places I like to visit.

Well I didn't say nobody walks to Wynn/Encore:

I think a big part of it is that beyond The Venetian, if you are on the sidewalk in front of it, it doesn't look like there is much more to walk to or stuff looks a long ways away.

And you can really kind of see it by just looking at the flow of people on the sidewalks: the driveway intersection at Venetian is always packed with people waiting to cross, its mostly shoulder to shoulder in front of Casino Royale... but looking the other way, from the front of The Venetian to Palazzo you can see the crowds getting thinner and thinner and the intersections are more busy with cars than pedestrians....

I believe that LVB and Flamingo is the heart of the strip. It seems like that is the neighborhood everyone wants to stay or visit. I don't agree that it's shifted south towards City Center. For a detractor, one could make the argument that City Center isn't even on the strip to begin with!

The heart of my strip will always be LVB/Flamingo. Don't always stay in that area, but that was my first impression 15 years ago and it hasn't changed a bit.

I've liked the CityCenter/PHo/Cosmo area for it's live vibe but I must agree that Flamingo Rd is the center.

There are also casino all around it unlike MGM Grand which has nothing past it on that side.

A stay at the Flamingo and you can hit anywhere pretty quickly. The hotel itself isn't too far back from the strip unlike Bellagio, Caesars, and Aria.

I also vote for Flamingo and LVB. I live 1 mile from there at Paradise and Flamingo..it was one of the selling points when I decided to rent my Apt. I was only a mile from Center Strip. The 4 Corners so to speak.

Even if it has shifted to harmon....I still live a mile from the most traveled part of the strip.

That's my thinking as well. I'd say right around Harmon and LVB, at this point, especially for the younger generation.
