Does The "D" still have the little pool and hot tub? Trying to decide to stay there on a comp or try Downtown Grand. Do they have a hot tub in the pool area? Going in May.

Sadly, the D pool area is one of the only "down" sides to their property.

Downtown Grand's is much nicer, but they both pale in comparison to the Golden Nugget, which has the water slide through the shark tank.

You can get a day pass to the Golden Nugget

New Orleans 7* retreat. Food, food, and more food . . . .
    Tentatively Tahoe or LV . . . .

Agree with DaiLun and I don't know if the D or DTG have a hot tub.

As I recall the D has a small hot tub, but the location of the pool and hot tub are such that it's unlikely you'd want to use them (through the back of the casino, out to the left of the valet parking area by the street corner). The Downtown Grand doesn't have a hot tub. Too bad, because the pool deck area is OK otherwise.

That's what I remember when it was Fitzgeralds, you also have to walk past the check in area.

The Golden Nugget does have a great pool area, but they are packed in like sardines! I could not believe how busy it was when we went in October. It's pretty cool, though....

Someone bring me up to speed. Does the GN have a hot tub and is it open year round?

    Chef,

Yes and yes. It has a large hot tub that is open until sometime in the wee hours. We used it a couple of times around 10 pm in December.

The GN has an adult area with a small pool, hot tub and bar. Unfortunately they were closed for remodeling last Thanksgiving. You also have to walk up the same stairs as and past the line for the slide; not very adult-y.

I laughed so hard at this thread, especially:
" through the back of the casino, out to the left of the valet parking area by the street corner "
DAMN!!!!! Then I googled pics and couldn't stop laughing at that pool... I have to check out that area when I visit downtown in about a month, have to see that with my own eyes!!!
