A while back, I created a thread about PHo being out of their mind, for their rack rates for their Vista Resort Rooms were more expensive than Cosmo's Fountain View Balcony rooms.

Have to repeat that thought with the Crumwell. Anyone see Vegas Chatter dated April 21, titled "At the Cromwell, you want a South Facing Room?

A huge block of rooms faces a Huge Freaking WALL. These rooms have to be the budget priced rooms in the [STRIKE]$220 - $250 Range. [/STRIKE]. Sorry, had to edit, for Vegas Chatter says the rooms start at $249.

So I have to say, for about the same money, would you like a Baclony Fountain View Room, or a Freaking WALL View?

Now as far as the kiddies are concerned, it'is all about access to the Day and Night Club at the Crumwell, and when you are young and boinking in the room, who care's about a view, for it's all about the Bed View. :evillaugh

But for the rest of us, is the Crumwell out of their minds? That Wall... For $250... :kill::banana::goofy:

Crummy Wall View Rooms, exclusively available at the Crumwell! View link below for article.

Have you stayed there? It is a little outrageous that the value crowd is allowed to dump all over the high end places on this board, but not vice versa.

You are good for the Wall View.

OK, That's one vote for the Wall View.

    Any others?

Don't blame me about their design, blame CET.

For the price point, I'll be at the Value Cosmo Balcony overlooking the fountains, listening to its music, sipping on some Value Weisers Whisky (its price point is cheaper than Crown Royal, and so much smoother than Crown) enjoying all that wonderful view, that only a value place like Cosmo can provide.

That's one vote for the Balcony Fountain View.

    Next.....

Believe me, when I stay there, I won't be paying, and I won't be looking at a wall.

If the wall insulates from the Flamingo Road traffic, the view may be a worthy sacrifice. There is a limit to trashing on the place before its even opened and that's probably been reached on this board and this is coming from someone who wouldn't stay there or at Cosmo.

How much does the listed rate really matter anyway? I mean it in the sense of telling you what kind of price point they are trying to set themselves at? Its only 188 rooms and I look at my TR site and can get every weekday comped and weekends mostly at a $50 rate. I'm squarely a mid-roller and to give some context, I never show a single comp available at Nobu and some weekend nights without a comp at Caesars and much higher rates than $50.

If Cromwell was a 3000 room hotel then their listed rate might mean something. But with 188 rooms and the largest supply of rated players of any casino company its so insignificant. A tiny handful of players stay there on comps and can fill up the hotel.

But I agree having a bunch of rooms directly face a wall is weird. I'm probably one of the few that would like that just because I never cared for a strip view, I usually like to see the airport or the mountains. But if I couldn't see those I'd rather face a wall to block the sun. Didn't someone say though that they were going to run a light show or display on that wall? Or was that just a joke?

That's 3 votes for the wall. It blocks out the sun, and traffic noise!

1 Vote for the Balcony Fountain View.

Watch out Cosmo, there's a new clientele in town.

Your Fountain view is soooooooooo Old School!

Last time I stayed in that building, I had a room which used to have a great fountain view. They had put up that damn Bally's billboard, and instead of fountains, I got to see flashing lights and listen to "We will We will ROCK YOU!" all night long. Have not stayed there since, but give me a wall view over a billboard view any day.

I don't know if they are doing a light show on that wall but there is some sort of light display planned for the Grand Bazaar. And don't forget that their hopes are that you will go from day club to nightclub. When would you enjoy that view?

As for rates, I can't get more than $20 off regular rates through Total Rewards. They may be offering steep discounts but it's very targeted as to who gets them.

I agree with those room views being crap. However, I agree with danky here too. It seems it's ok to dump all over high end over penny pinching. As long it's the majority old guard agreeing, cool beans, I see.

Also did Bills or Barbary have Flamingo facing rooms?

Typical VMB thread. Posters take outrageous position to troll the OP instead of just agreeing.

Give me the fountain please for that price!!!

What's the point of all this if we have to agree with the OP?

What else you going to be looking at? Into the rooms at Harrah's, and they into yours?

May not be perfect, but if you consider the alternatives, and you also consider you have no idea what the ultimate final plan is (light show, painting), there really wasn't much option.

and by the way, is it me, or does it seem as if "WHIVGOYTUBE" hates and complains about everything?

While the OP is trolling everyone. Plus, I'm going to go out on a limb and state that most people would want a fountain view at that price. I personally wouldn't pay that price for any base room unless there was free chips, gold, and wipers a la Coming To America.

    No brainer there.

It would also be a sad day in forum going if everyone was to cheerlead and agree with the OP just cuz.

You may as well not have a forum then.

It's old guard vs new guard for the most part.

I don't mind complaining but there's a definite pattern here for many people.

Frankly, we just need those folks to get out there and gamble more to show the gaming revenue up and that'll show em.

    Until then....

Again, did Bills or Barbary have wall facing rooms?

If you don't like the rates at any hotel, don't stay there. If the rooms don't sell at the posted rates, the hotel will adjust according to market conditions.

Is this another "I lost money and I am going to dump all over this casino/hotel" post?

Nobody here at VMB says you have to automatically agree with what you read here. You just have to be able to disagree without being disagreeable. :)

Please feel free to contact me via PM if you have issues with the way the board is run. Or hit the report post icon if you think a post is over the top and needs moderator eyes on it. Thanks!

Hey, want do you mean??? Ya know, I hate that, and yes I'm complaining about it! Dam young people having all that youthful sex, going to fancy clubs, spending money the way I only wish I could.

I think my posts are positive (Dam this Vegas 6/5, Dam comps drying up, Dam expensive drinks and Food).

And when do I ever really complain (what is going on with that wall view, and is PHo out of their minds, Terry Factor Sings too much).

Holly Crap, I have become Walter. :evillaugh

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bottom line, I see it for what it is. There is the Good, The Bad, and The Ugly about Vegas, and my posts goes along those lines. If you see only the Bad and Ugly about my posts, then that's your call, can't complain about that.

I Love Vegas, just don't like the mentality of the resorts expecting more and more high buck spending from same demographic they know, doesn't normally vacation that way.

Love VP at the Bar, hate that Wynn tried to start a precedence about bar comps (thank God, no one followed).

Love the food and show options in Vegas, think some are pure rip-off.

Love the Bus system for cheap ways to get around, hate that your first experience with Vegas when you get off the plane, is having to deal with dishonest Taxi drivers while the Taxi Authority is in bed with everyone and no REAL effort is done to, finally and once and for all, PUT A STOP TO IT. After this May trip, in a couple of years, same old complaints on the VMB about this.

Love to get off the plane and know I'm in Vegas, hate to look at the faces of the people in the Terminal going home, knowing is just a short while, I'm going to look just like them.

Love going to Vegas every couple of years in between Cruises, hate seeing the shift towards higher and higher spending expectation of the resorts while gaming continues to take a nose dive.

I say it the way it changes, and I don't sugar coat the obvious, just because its Vegas. :peace:

Now lets get back to that wonderful Wall. There is no amount of free comp that would get me to take that wall view. If the wall view was free, I would turn it down and still pay money somewhere else. Why, because Vegas time is too valuable for the number of trips we make, and a good view is a MUST HAVE. The Crumwell can show porn 24/7 on that dam wall as far as I am concerned, but you'll never see me stay there.

As someone else said, they should have left Bill's alone. That was a fun Dive place on the Strip, and will surely be missed. Loved it even more when it was Barbary Coast! Oh, the new and improved Bills, wall views and all. :Þ
