    Well ladies and germs,

got home from my annual round of golf today and found a lovely purple envelope in the mail---FROM COSMO!!!!

I assumed after my quick-hitting victory tour last trip I was likely persona-non-grata at the good ole Cosmo. I guess they were able to ignore my minimal play during my part of the stay and credit me for bigger play during Borat's room comp portion of the trip.

Those guys got their offers a while ago so I must be a ways down on the food chain. Anyway I guess I forgot about going down big at Cosmo during the last trip before my recovery and reversal at Orleans. Possibly they also look kindly upon my $75 hardway bets.

Anyway the good ole 2-nighter came in today so I kicked Aria's $79 + $25 resort fee to the curb like a sweaty old $2 hooker on nickel nite.

Suck it Murren. Suck it long, suck it hard.

For my 12 night August / September trip, I'm booking the same Cosmo offer (may add 1-2 additional paid nights), three nights comped at Red Rock (my brother is out in Summerlin) coupled with a likely few nights downtown (either The D or The California) and maybe Venetian/Palazzo paid for rooms (either Hotwire or direct - I'll take a Wynn as well) now that they waive resort fees. I have a couple of CET offers left as well, but those are backup only.

My MILFe comps have run dry, so all they will get is hit and run BJ, if any action. Haven't played at a MILFe property since my last comp stay at Bellagio, when I did well at their BJ tables, played $0 in machines beyond cashing out freeplay, and rode home a happy winner.

The last time at The Cosmo, their BJ tables were CSM or 6/5 for green chip, so I'll likely book a weeknight stay so I can (hopefully) play with decent rules.

Interesting. I think Cosmo must use a longer "look back" period when they are determining their offers. Last time, I had 3 nights in a wraparound suite comped, practically no played them, thinking that since I don't really like the casino I would just play elsewhere and not stay there again. Lo and behold, I have another 3 nights offered in a terrace suite (unfortuanately with lower FP and F&B, this time but still a good offer) Clearly they are looking back to other stays with stronger play. A single low play trip w MGM results in kind of being dumped on the curb. It has always seemed to me that MGM is primarily looking at your most recent trip when figuring out what to offer you, both hosts and corporate.

I love it when you tell corporate gambler-reaming suits to suck it.

Its hard to sound like a proletariat when you're praising one of the biggest bulge-bracket banks on Wall Street.

I think this is a mass mailer as I got the same postcard mailer, and I haven't played there since right after they opened. My friend also got the same offer, and he is an ultra low roller (maybe he spent $100 there) some time back.

If this is true, there should be a way to take advantage. I had my biggest play ever at MGM props my last trip -- we'll see how that goes.

I would agree that the MGM mentality has moved to a "prove it to me" attitude as far as upfront comps go. I think the days are dwindling where they give you the world coming in, without a very proven history to back up the upfront comp offer.

I have a friend who has a strong play record, but since it has not happened recently (been at other properties), his upfront comp offer for his first return visit is a lot less than he is accustomed to. His host told him that if he records play on the level of this previous performances, then his upfront comps on his NEXT trip would be back to his normal level of offers.

Odd, I've not received anything and spend a bit of time on the $1 slots and also a bit in the high limits room (They comp Oban there :D) every trip I go...Maybe it's because I'm Canadian? lol

Got my Cosmo offer yesterday, 3 nights comped, $250 food and $750 freeplay. Going to pass this time and head to the Bellagio, 2 suites upfront and review of play at the end. I'll report back and let everyone know what they comp, if anything at the end.
