    My Trip Report

Ok. I admit, that was a lame title for this thread. But, I'm typing this at 4 in the morning and am a bit tired. I'm currently finishing up only 3 more hours of work for the week. Then it's home to take a quick snooze till 12:30 or so. And then it time to head to Milwaukee for a quick and easy 3 day trip to Las Vegas. (Quick and easy, that's the wife always calls me)

My travelling partner for this trip is Ope Dogg, a buddy of mine for about 13 years or so. The plan is to meet him at his work around 1 and head to MKE. Of course, no trip to MKE is complete without a stop at Kopps Frozen Custard in Brookfield. SWA is scheduled to take us out of MKE at 5:10 and get us in to Las Vegas at about 7pm local time. Of course this flight will be a bit better with the 20 SWA drink vouchers I currently have in my possession. Of which I will probably have none left in my possession upon arriving.

Originally, I was set-up for 3 nights comped at Flamingo in a Go Room. But, after CET noticing that I have a slight gambling problem sent me one hell of an awesome email. The email stated three free nights at any property with $25 in food and $25 in pool drinks. So out of curiosity I call them up. And it turns out I will not be staying at Flamingo in a Go Room anymore:cry:. It appears I will now be staying in the Octavious Tower at Caesars Palace:woohoo:. This will be my first time staying at Caesars so I am pretty excited to check out this room and see what it has to offer.

Plans for the trip: no idea. My wife is currently in Sin City with her mother as I write this and staying at Harrah's:jester:, so I guess I should meet up with her for at least 10 minutes a day or something. (Remember, I'm quick and easy). But, we plan on dinner and all the fun stuff we enjoy doing together when we're out there. Other people in attendance include, 2 friends of mine, my wifes and Opes, my boss from my part time job and his brother and sister and another friend of mine who I play a lot of poker with. We're going to try and meet-up, but nothings guaranteed.

Ope and I are hoping to play in some of the bigger tournaments that are starting this weekend at Caesars, Rio, or Palazzo. But, we'll see how the alcohol consumption affects our decision making.:drunk::beer: Other than that, it will be the usual $.025 DDB VP extravaganza, some BJ and rolling the dice on the craps table. I will NOT, I repeat, will NOT be a degenerate and be chasing at the $1 or higher VP. At least I'm going to try not to...

I know the wife wants to go to Caesars pool area with me one day so we're going to hit that up for sure. Maybe dowtown on Sunday night. Maybe hookers, maybe not. Who knows. This is more of a go with the flow type trip.

If your're interested, and I know that you are. I will be providing updates via twitter and maybe an update or two on here. But being that I'm only a lowly, lowly platinum player for CET I have no access to Diamond Lounges. But, I do have a cellular telephonic device that will allow me to do updates from that. My twitter feed is: @kaboom_poker

The journey starts in only a few short hours, so lets get them pocket aces to hold and start hitting those 1 to the royal on the video poker. Quarter VP of course....

Nah, Don't sell yourself short - at the very least the title was unique enough it motivated me to take a look at your TR - and so far it's pretty funny - looking forward to the reading the rest of it as it unfolds.

Nice! Curious of your opinion as a CP Virgin. I have not stayed in Octavious tower yet. I like CP but sometimes feel like the staff are as pretentious as the Wynn, except they don't give the same level of service.

So far a hell if a time. CP kinda disappointed me by not having a two queen room available so Ope has to stay in a rollaway. Gambling is good so far. Hit about 14 4OAK including aces with the kicker on the quarter level on a 10 play.

I have to say that Macker is correct about the vp at Casino Royale. Just popped a royal in hearts there 10 minutes ago.

Pics are updated at twitter @kaboom_poker

Welcome to the "Royal at the Royale" club! Congratulations, you are now a qualified dirty chasing degenerate. Unless your hit was actually on quarters, in which case you can remove the dirty...(not the chasing because technically your TR state you will be play 2 1/2 cent DDB VP :poke:)

Do you get the coveted "2 for 1" Denny's coupon with a Royal? *Valid from 2 am to 6am as part of the Royal club. or How about the $50 promotional slot machince free play?

The Royale used to be my go to drinking hole for Mich Ultra back in the 90's
and $1 BJ usually after rolling in from the Itchy Kitty strip Club at 2am. But then again this was when I stayed at the Ramada time shares on Koval which made staying at the IP look like high rollin.

I feel humbled and honored to become a member of this very secret society. Is there some sort of hazing ritual that would involve a bottle of Grey Goose? (please say yes) . Is it also degenerate of me to pull quads on a $2 VP? My degeneracy allowed me to have the good fortune of quad Q's on of this trip too.

Here's a quick update from last weekend. I'll put up pics and more details when I have a bit more time.

Left MKE and arrived at LAS on schedule. No line at cab stand and it's off to CP with out the lovely view of the tunnel (damn it). Check in to Octavius Tower was super quick and simple as it has it's own dedicated check-in area. Only disappointment was that their were no rooms with two queen beds available. (More on this later) They roll in a roll-a-way for my friend. At first he says "WTF is this shit" but wakes up the next day and said it wasn't too bad at all.

Freshen up a bit and walk to Harrah's to go meet the wife. She meets us in the sportsbook as we are playing some VP and watching the Brewers. Quads at Harrahs include: Q's, 6's, 8's, 2's with kicker and J's on quarters, 9's and 5's on $0.50 and 6's on $1's. We play there till I believe 1 am according to Twitter updates and we leave there and headto the Bally's progressives for a bit. We paly at Bally's and quads include: 7's, 8's and 9's all on the quarter progressive bank off the escalator by keno. According to my pics, after I hit the 9's I was up $30. Shortly after we call it a night and head to bed.

Wake up on Sunday and head to Harrah's again. We get a late breakfast at around noon at the cafe and go at it from there. I start by playing some single line $0.25 DDB VP with no results and then try out some 3 line Ultimate poker and do so so, cashing out at about even. Next up, some 10 line DDB at the quarter level. On my second hundred in, I'm dealt 2 aces and on one of the ten hands am dealt the other two aces with the kicker for a nice $500 pull. Cash that shit out and head over to the "Royale" for some royal chasing.

    More to follow...
