Only 33 more days until wife and I leave for a much needed vacation to our favorite city!! Only 3 nights though
Not too happy about such a short trip but will make the best of it. Wife booked a great deal at the luxor, never have stayed there so hope its not as bad as some of the reviews.

Have fun...it's not a bad place, despite some people hating it.

It is a far walk to anywhere from there, though.

Have a great time! It's short, but some Vegas is better than no Vegas. I've never stayed at Luxor either, but I've always wanted to stay in a pyramid room even though everyone says they're not good. One of these days I'm gonna bite the bullet and just do it. I get free rooms at CET, so it's hard to pay to stay somewhere else.

It's not that bad especially if you have a tower room. The best thing about is that it's connected to Mandalay Bay

Mandalay Bay is just right next door. The casino is nice. They have plenty of restaurants. I hear Michael Jackson One is a good show. Excalibur is also right next door, and there's a walkway between Luxor and there, but I don't have a desire to go there except for it being a conduit from the street corner.

I stayed in a Pyramid room and i didn't have any problems with it. Its pretty basic, but overall, i liked the vibe in the Luxor. You will be way down on the south end, and walking even to PH can be tough. But it all depends on how you judge hotels i think.

The Luxor isn't as bad as everyone says, I think it all depends on what you expect from a hotel. We find the staff very friendly and accommodating. We are walkers and walk about 5miles a day at home so walking when in Vegas isn't an issue for us if we want to venture out. As others have pointed out the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur are handy, so you aren't far from another casino if you need a change of scenery. As for the rooms the tower rooms are a step above the pyramid (but the pyramid are unique in their own way), if you go in with the expectations of a 5 star hotel you will be disappointed.

We have stayed several times and have never had a bad experience. Yes, its older, yes the crowd can be a bit sketchy in the casino, but that can be said for 90% of the properties. Get a tower room, its worth the minimal upcharge. If you don't care for the vibe, walk to Mandalay or even MGM is not a bad hoof.

I stayed there last year and I'm going again in October! I stayed in a tower room and it was comparable to my MGM room (before they were renovated mind you..). I spent a lot of time in Mandalay Bay since it's a really short walk through the walkway. I enjoyed the buffet at MB and ate there a few times.

I honestly didn't mind walking down the strip from Luxor. I kind of laugh at the notion that there's a lot of walking if you stay there. When I stayed at MGM since the property is so huge I felt like I walked a lot more there.

I too am staying at the Luxor in October. This will be my 5th stay over there. I've stayed at both the tower rooms and the pyramid rooms. The tower rooms are nicer but I also like the pyramid rooms as they are unique. My brother is staying at the Encore so this time around I'll be doing a lot of walking. I'll probably buy a 3day monorail pass so I wouldn't have to walk as much. I do like their casino layout and the vibes at the Luxor.

I always liked the Luxor, it was where I popped my Vegas cherry and stayed there the first couple subsequent trips. I've since moved over to MGM but wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Luxor again if the offer was right. The location actually is really good despite the south end of the strip.

Luxor isn't bad and Asa for the walk just use the monorail to Excalibur and then you go on from there
