Just booked a trip for June 28th - July 4th! We were't planning on going to Vegas this year because our 20th anniversary is in August and we want to do something new and awesome. I was thinking a London trip would be good, but I was a little nervous traveling outside of the country this day and age (it's been 20 years since I've been outside the U.S.)...

Anyway, we have 4 friends going at the end of June and they talked us into going, soooo, it looks like we'll split up an awesome anniversary trip into 2 "smaller" trips - 1) Vegas and 2) who knows yet!

It should be a blast since a couple of those friends moved out of state a couple of years ago and we don't get to see them often. The only downside..... no convertbile this trip - gotta minivan it to fit everyone.... wow, cruisin' Vegas in a friggin' minivan?? Yep, I think that will cost me my man card.

We're all staying at the Flamingo. We've never stayed there (we do enjoy the casino)... so I hope the rooms are okay.

Flying out of Dallas Love Field on Southwest... we got airline tickets for the trip to Vegas for $36 person! Sweet deal! Well, at least that leg of the flight anyway. Didn't do too bad though... roundtrip for both of us $271 (and some change)! Okay, tickets were $371, but we had $100 in travel funds.

REALLY looking forward to making the trip back up to Mt. Charleston and having breakfast again... our other friends haven't made that trek yet.. so it should be fun, even in a friggin' minivan

I stayed at Flamingo last July during one of my trips - I was impressed with the room, spacious, laminate floors and a great view of the strip... I really liked the casino, it was the first time I stayed mid-strip and enjoyed it a lot - have fun!!!!

Flamingo rooms are pretty good if you get a Go Room - strip view on a high floor (the wrap around hinders view on floors below 20th floor) We usually stay at Bally's or Paris but for NYE had to go to Flamingo for 1st time & we were impressed.....amazed at all the outlets.....more than any hotel room we've had so we could plug in all our devices overnite with no problem.
