It seems like every time I check the prices on SWA they keep going up. Hell, even the "special" one way is the same as RT..
I guess they can get whatever they want for a trip to Vegas..
With the amount I'll pay SWA I'll need to take the WAX downtown because I won't be able to afford a cab..
And to top it all off I'm going out there for my 69th birthday..

Don't feel bad about riding the bus; the WAX beats a cab anyday. It is uncrowded, has room for your bags, cost a buck and takes 28 minutes from terminal 1 to downtown maybe a bit more now that it goes to terminal 3 first. And you need now worry about the tunnel!

Board the WAX on its way North after it has already left Terminal 3 behind. The ride is then the same amount of time.

    And happy birthday!

Funny, I just rebooked our Oct return trip on SWA because the price went down. Okay, it's only $19 ea, but I still love we can do this on SWA.

I agree SW is getting high. But from my area all the carriers are getting high. We are looking at a June trip and the only nonstop SW now has is up to $507 rt! Only other nonstop from New England is Jet Blue out of BOS and when I checked it was over $600. If I were going from the airport to downtown...WAX would be the way.

I'm paying $200 from Albany one way, but there will probably be no rebooking. The flight is full.

If you have more questions, ask.
Don't bother with the ticket machine. Give the driver $2 and that will get you downtown.

If you are going to use any bus much after that:

Tell us each casino you will stay in with dates when you will stay.
Tell whether you are over 60 or not and whether you hold a Medicare card.
Tell us the day and time your trip ends.
    Tell us your destination casinos.

I'm not getting to Vegas until July 8th.
I'm staying at the Freemont downtown.
Will the bus have a WAX sign on their destination box ?

I just missed the wax last trip was ready to head back in the terminal and saw the CX waiting. Pleasant ride but took a bit longer. Was able to see some of the UNLV campus and an uncrowded in and out burger I will visit next trip

YOu must have been at Terminal 3. The CX does not go to Terminal 1

Also, the routes are very different. I like the CX, but it takes us to the North end of the strip and not to NYNY as does the WAX. If you are staying at the end, it is the way to go.

    Where did you get off?

I take the CX often when I am staying downtown to get to the University Campus, walk around the little cactus gardens, visit the museum, walk over to see the bull riders at the Mack.

I've begun working on my TR but this seemed like an appropriate thread to post this to.

We took the WAX 3 times. Airport to Suncoast (~50 mins). The schedule times posted at the airport varied from the online times. In our case the bus schedule was 7 minutes later than on-line. No biggie, but who knows what else changed.

Suncoast to downtown and back, followed the on-line schedule.

We showed our WI DL each time and paid $1. No questions asked. They did play the recorded announcements several times each trip about needing a RTC approved ID, but the drivers just thanked us for showing the WI DL and accepted the dollar fare.

One other thing...we were waiting for the free Suncoast shuttle to the airport and a cab showed up with people with luggage. I walked over and asked the cabbie what the fare was. He said he took Paradise to I-15, which would seem like the most direct route. Fare: $55.10!

Nice Joe. Glad the buses worked for you. And thanks for the detail on your Wisconsin ID working for senior discount. I'll keep passing that one on as well.
