One week to go and I will back in Vegas. I have been at least 6 times in the last 10 years. We normally land and grab a rental car for the first few days. That allows us to make our first stop at the Walmart by the airport and stock up on a case of water and other supplies.

This trip will only be 5 nights (short for us) and we will be changing from Delano to MGM after 3 nights. I am thinking of skipping the car this time because I really think it will sit most of the trip. We don't plan to do the Hoover dam or premium outlets this trip.

We had the idea to have Uber take us to Walmart then the room but that means checking in with all our luggage and supplies... rather annoying. I'd also rather skip stocking up too much since we are moving to MGM after 3 nights.

So... suggestions for best places to grab a bunch of water and snacks around Delano? I know there is, or was, a liquor store across the street for Mandalay Bay. Anything else close? I guess I could just bite the bullet and buy everything through the hotel but that gets tiresome.

Stayed at The Mandalay Bay in February and the liquor store was still across the other side of the strip. Easily walk across the road there. Also a McDonalds, Subway and Panda Express there if I remember rightly.

Nipped across a few times for some in room munchies/drinks as so expensive in The Hotel

I haven't stayed down that end in a long time, but I'll give you a tip for grocery shopping. I don;t know if you normally use bell service, but this works great with that.

If you load up on stuff at Walmart or a supermarket, go to the produce section and ask for one or two empty boxes and load the stuff in them after you pay. Fruit boxes work well for this (if they give you banana boxes, you need to set a paper bag in the bottom to cover the hole). It's easy for the bell (or you, depending on how much luggage you have) to handle coming and going.

I didn't find the liquor store across the street very useful. The Grand Canyon souvenir shop near MGM is okay for booze, good for mix and water. Take the tram up to Excal (North stop) and cross over to Northeast corner. It's just north of MGM entrance. ABC and Walgreens are a little further north on that side of the strip.

If you are just grabbing water & snacks, the liquor store across the street from MB will be fine, otherwise there is a gas station (Shell?) that is right there as well.

Thanks for all the info. I love the The Grand Canyon experience for snacks and we will be using that place when staying in MGM for sure. It seems far to just grab snacks. We walk down to the other end of the strip regularly so the walking isn't an issue but I just HATE lugging stuff around with me. I never thought about bell service actually. That might be a good option.

I was planning to try Uber this trip for the first time so I was thinking the drop off for Uber is not at the lobby where bell service would pick up but maybe Uber will drop off at the lobby.

I would love if if it were possible to rent an electric car for a few hours to do this stuff then be done with the car. I had an I3 as a loaner car and I drove a Tesla... pretty interesting drive. An I3 to run errand for a few hours would be outstanding.

Uber will drop off right at the Delano lobby. Bellman can meet you right at the car.

We always hit up whole foods before we check in. We have concierge put an extra fridge in our room for my wife's rx and groceries
