    It's one of these cable channels - w/ a "Reality" series -
about 5 guys that hike into the Superstiton Mtns. in
    search of Lost Dutchman's Mine.
Well.....?.......the whole legend of Lost Dutchman's Mine
    is a GREAT folktale !
I have always loved the legend + have hiked into The Superstitions
    several times ( I lived in PHX. for 2 yrs. ) 1970's.
    *
    But..........
This WAS CRAP !.......and yet ?.....I couldn't stop watching !
Who doesn't love a hunt for buried treasure ? ( or a Prison Break Story - as
the entire state of NY has been recently wrapped up in ).
    *
The narrator tells us about our cast of characters -
who have been "hunting for the mine for 40 - 50 years".
Well......if they have ?......they all NEED a NEW map !
These guys basically gave us a "Hiker's Guide To All The Well Known Spots."
What a Publicity Sunt for the Superstitions.
I KNEW all these spots.....and been to most of them.....like THOUSANDS of other hikers !
At one point the show tells us "This new area of their map has NEVER been travelled
    by our prospectors."
These guys must not walk far ?.......The "new" area of their map was ALL WORN
    HIKING TRAILS !!
One spot thay camped at - had tire worn tracks to the campsite.
    *
One of the guys was about 80 yrs old.
How far is he gonna hike in ?
They told us how hot the desert was ( it was spring time = green shrubs )
They weren't sweating much - even hauling equipment !
    WTF ?.......C'mon !
    *
One idiot kept crawling into small holes under rocks -- that NO SANE JERK would do !...
unless they cleared it out before the cameras were turned on.
At least, theyDID worry about rattlers !
And some of the wierd/strange people that you come across back in there !
My hiking party came across a crashed plane + another time 3 individuals who
    were armed......dirty.....and one was delirious.

    I still watched...........but YOU DON'T.

Joe, if you want to see how staged this show was, go to youtube and type in the show name. A lot of the shots are within yards of fire roads and established camping areas. The "mysterious" medicine wheel they found is within 50 yards of a main dirt road through that area. The plaque they found in the cave is not really in that "bat" cave. The bat cave is well documented and has been searched a lot over the years. One guy went through and debunked most of the show.

I figured the plague was placed there when they cemented up the hole.
If they only broke through about 10 feet I bet the treasure was back there....but we will never know.

I didn't sleep last night --- so I'm reading the above posts
    as "plague" ....not "plaque".
I'm still laughing at the difference - the post reads as .
