I'm flying into town that magical Sunday and will there early enough to get settled (or, at least, drop bags at the hotel) and get to a Big Game party. I've never been in town for the big game before. What sort of parties do the casinos throw?

I'm staying at Paris and I'll have a car. I'm open to strip, downtown and off-strip/local's joints. I'll be going with a woman and we both have a sense of adventure. We're not looking for the hippest party in town, but we're not afraid to put a little $ into this if it's going to be a good time.

Anybody have any experience with The Game That Shall Not Be Mentioned?

Since your staying at Paris I can recommend the casino parties thrown at either the Burger place in the walkway between Bally's and Paris or Indigo Lounge. I have done both and for a sub $100 bucks its a good deal with food, door prizes, and limited open bar. Plenty of drink specials.

The crowd varies based on who is playing in the bowl. I have done SB weekend in vegas around 7 times. 3 at private casino VIP parties, and 4 at the open to the public ones. The energy and money flying around that weekend is insane. Better than NYE in my opinion. My most favorite time to hang out in vegas is SB weekend.

The Drinking and crowds are pretty big. Everyone has parties going on, including the strip clubs in vegas which I did one year with some buddies. Your age would play into where I would tell you to go. Blondies at Miracle Mile Shops has been reported as good, and with some of the new clubs in town opening their doors for SB parties you can have the type of experience you want depending if your willing to drop some $$. Personally I like to spend it around crazy sports fans who are into the game, especially a major rivalry.

IMHO best fans for SB weekend over past superbowls.

Pittsburgh - These people are insanely loyal and good time to party with, watch out they love to drink and do shots. I got competely obliterated a couple of years ago hanging at the bar watching SB XLV with these guys.

NY Giants - These people know how to have a good time, but watch out they can be offended and ready to get into it if you insult their team. Definitely the hottest women fans. I saw more women football fans when NY was in the bowl, dont be talking smack about Eli around them. Great time at the craps tables with these guys.

Philidephia - Who cares if they have not seen a superbowl win for years, the city of brotherly love has some cool people to hang around in vegas. I enjoyed playing at the BJ tables the most with these fans and drinking Philly Flyers.

Bears Fans - Sure its been like 7 years since the last SB appearance. Da fans like their beef sandwiches, beer, and football. If you talk smack about their team, they will remind you about the 1995 bears and George Halas days, while they buy you a round of whiskey. Definitely the friendliest football fans.

If you can give a little more detail on what kinda of experience you like, I could give you some recommendations. Its across the board in vegas with parties as cheap as $30 bucks up to $500 a seat.

I think most every casino either has parties that they invite you to if you play enough, or otherwise have parties you can buy your way into. Last week I received a mail invite to the Bellagio party and guess what, the invite was shaped like ...... a football! Shocker

We're from Houston, but I was born and raised up in the northeast and bleed Giants blue. Eli is just so frustrating. 10-11 weeks of the year he's a top-tier QB. The other 5 or 6, he'd be more productive if he just mowed the turf at the new stadium. Makes a guy :drunk:

I'm not a heavy enough gambler to warrant an invite to a private event. I had assumed a range of $50-$150 entry fee (per person) - I certainly wouldn't turn down cheaper and could be convinced to go up a bit if there was a good reason to.

As for style... Me and the lady-friend are both 32. I'm not a typical strip-stayer.. The last 2+ years (encompassing more than 20 trips) I've stayed exclusively downtown. She's technically not a virgin - I took her on one of my < 24 hour whirlwind trips - but her only experience is 777 Brew pub (Main Street), dragging her past the fountains @ Bellagio, pai gow until she passed out (stayed at the Plaza), Hash House (Plaza) for breakfast and $10 AM BJ @ MGM before running to catch the plane home. This time we have 5 days, 4 nights, double booked at Paris (Hoping to upgrade to a fountain-view) and Main Street, in case we need a place to rest our heads on that side of town.

We're both adventurous and I have a very good working knowledge of the greater valley. GVR, any of the stations, Red Rock, Orleans, etc. are all fair game for this. She actually has a thing for novelty/uniqueness, so something off the beaten path may actually be preferred to something like, say, Lagasse's Stadium. We're both very open - a strip club wouldn't be off-limits - but my gut feeling is that a strip club would be more expensive than I'm looking to go... Vegas is a far more expensive market for strip clubs than Houston is.

Neither of us are sports bettors. She wouldn't know how to and I'm too passionate to properly analyze a bet.

Probably way too much info :faint: - but, hey, you asked! I'd totally appreciate any thoughts you have about what might work for us. :peace:

I too am from Houston and heading to LV for Super Bowl 2013. Hoping to watch at either LVH or South Point. Check out the thread in the meetup section for more about who will also be in town, and hopefully come early January i'll be able to start posting links to where the parties are!

Thanks for the info on the Burger place in the walkway between Bally's and Paris and Indigo Lounge. I'm staying at Ballys for the first time SB weekemd. We usually stay at Flamingo. Been doing SB in LV for about 15 years. When do you think they will start taking reservations?

They didn't take reservations last year when I went, The deal was you had to go to the ticket center next to TR at Ballys or another desk. They sold them there, starting the week of the party. I usually got them on Friday before game. They typically do not sell out.

I would check out M resort, this is up your alley. My buddy hung out there last year and really liked it, and had no issues finding a place to watch the game. The crowd is good there.

Insert Coins Lounge downtown - They had a $30 dollar party last year, that got you a bucket of beer and all you can eat buffet

Lastly Gilleys at TI had a pretty cool all you can eat / beer party for $99 a person. First come first serve seating.
