I just received a "Special" room offer in my BConnected online account for the Suncoast. The offer is a room rate of $49.99 per night Sun-Thur in November and December. The rate includes a $10 food credit.

So just for Shits and Giggles I took a look at the BConnected Sapphire rate for some Sun-Thur nights in November and December, and many of them are either $40.80 per night or $39.20 per night. So, even if you figure in the $10 food credit, it would actually be $0.79 more expensive to use the "Special" offer to stay at Suncoast than it would be to book the Sapphire casino room rate.

I haven't played a lot at Suncoast yet. Just two sessions of VP: one for about three hours and one for about six hours. Both sessions were Bonus Deluxe at the quarter level. So, it's not like I would expect anything at all in terms of offers from Suncoast based on that play. But I got a good laugh out of the "Special" room offer when the offer itself turns out to be more expensive for the player than casino rate.

OK, minor rant over. Back to watching football.

One thing to consider is which rates incur the resort fee of $12. It is not an easy question. I have been booked thru B Connected at Gold Coast and not been charged the resort fee, and booked at Sam's and charged it one time and not another. It is hard to pin down. Every time the paperwork said I would pay it. Many times at check out I did not. Play had nothing to do with it. I never play at Gold Coast beyond the ACG 200 points for a free buffet.
