Hello. My wife and two kids are planning a Las Vegas vacation for Feb. 1st to the 5th of next year and was wondering if anyone had any ideas of where to stay. I would like to stay around or below $250 a night in a nice suite with lots of room since my kids are 9 and 12 and will be spending more time in the room than if it was just the two of us. My youngest is a type 1 diabetic so a fridge to store his insulin is a must. The best I could find is Treasure Island Tower suite for $790 for the four nights. Never stayed there before so not sure if that's good or not. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...

I don't know if staying on the strip is a requirement for you but if it's not, check out the palms place. They have amazing suites with kitchens and everything and it's usually cheaper than the strip.

That is Super Bowl Sunday so the prices will be inflated a bit and there is also a big convention (the concrete one I think) that hits town right after the SB.

Edit - for the fridge all hotels will provide one in the room for medications.

You definitely will face higher rates on Super Bowl weekend. A great time in Vegas -- and rate spikes go accordingly. The week before or after usually is pretty quiet, so you can find some great deals. You can often find terrific suites at the Vdara for a song -- less than $200 a night. It's non-gaming, so you can have a family-friendly kind of atmosphere but also be very close to Aria and Bellagio for the adults. Good luck! Will be a great trip.

The palms is one block across from the Rio. I love the suites there! Yes definitely check out the vdara and the signature. Sometimes you can find great deals on those two.

Wow. Vdara panoramic suite looks awesome. Great info but too many options now...researched the past two weeks but learned more in the last two hours since I joined this site.

Look into a Players Suite at New York-New York. Two queen beds, fridge, two televisions and a hot tub to relax in! Very reasonable. Oh, and the kids would LOVE the arcade area in the hotel.

Ziggurat and players suite both look nice. Kinda leaning towards that or Vdara panoramic suite. $100 more a day for Vdara but great view. Not sure if it's worth it.

Rocky's right about there being a big conference the week after the Superbowl, I've seen that affecting rates at Caesars even though Caesars isn;t the host hotel. But several other hotels I've looked at don't seem to be affected.

Rates on the night the Superbowl takes place are normally not affected by the game - shitloads of people go to Vegas from Cali (and other places) that weekend, but they check out and leave town on Sunday right after the game. So rates that night are usually normal, unless there's a big convention.

Yeah its the concrete convention...I didn't know such a thing existed until playing craps with some guys this year who were in town for it. There was also the kitchen and bath show and some other show that was related to my field there at the same time. My buddy was in town for them. But this year the KAB is in January.
