If I understand it correctly, they are discussing long term plans for the entire region, not just for tourists. I would hope that some of these plans would also help connect tourists to other parts of the city and not just the strip.

I like the rail from the airport to the strip.

My long term plans would include making the strip foot traffic only. They roads behind the casinos would be for traffic.

the parking structures would have to move underground.

To get from place to place on the strip it would be fun to put in a log ride above the sidewalk so you could just float on your log from casino to casino drinking a cool beverage. up one side, down the other.

Obviously a silly idea but out of the ones I listed that would probably be adopted first knowing the sometimes silly ways vegas does business sometimes.

If they made if "foot only" they could also do a ground level tram down the center of it. without obstructing any views. Awesome idea, although side streets and highways would need to be massively built up, so I'm guessing its a no go

I completely agree with this. Make the strip a giant outdoor open area with shopping and foot traffic only.

Seems to me the strip is a giant parking lot anyways
