    Trips to Las Vegas:
Hi there, has anyone lately stayed at the Stratosphere ? Have you tried the $20-Trick? Did it work? We only booked a cheap Standard room. I read somewhere that those rooms dont have an inroom safe. We really Need one for our Money, Passports and so on. Is there a way to get a room with a safe? We will be on our Honeymoon so would that make a difference on our Check in? Any suggestions on how to get a better room for free?

Anyone who has stayed in the Stratosphere lately? Please tell me everything about the hotel. I am so excited ;-)

I go to the Stratosphere every trip - 9 times in total now in 7 years. Last time I stayed was October, and just booked my 10th for this October!

I've never tried the $20 trick, but I have paid for upgrades on a number of occasions (although the past 5 trips have been comped).

I would recommend upgrading to the Stratosphere Select rooms, they are much better and in the newer part of the hotel. The price increase isn't too great either, I would guess you'd have a shot at this for free if you do the $20 trick and mention it's your honeymoon.

What sort of stuff are you hoping to do whilst there, and what gambling/dining are you interested in? Might be able to offer some tips.

The standard rooms do not have an in-room safe. If this is important to you (as it is to me), I would definitely pay the extra to upgrade to a Select room or above.

Do not rely on the fact it is your honeymoon to guarantee an free upgrade, or anything else. The desk agents hear from every other guest that it is their birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, etc.

You are more likely to get something to your liking by just offering to pay the fee.
