    My Trip Report

Thanks to those of you who answered my questions and helped me plan my trip. Things generally went well.
Here are a few comments and highlights from my trip:

    - Hotwire.com had the best airfare /hotel deal I could find.

    - My room at the Strat was pretty basic but perfectly fine and comfortable for the low price that I paid.

    - The casino was never overly crowded or noisy, which suited my taste.

    - Comp drinks were a challenge to acquire at the Strat. The waitresses ran by so fast I would have to shout & wave to get their attention.

    - I don't normally consume much alcohol, but the $1.00 frozen Margaritas at Casino Royal seemed especially refreshing when the temperatures outside were near 100.

    - The $22.00 Rivera buffet/ comedy club combo was a great deal since I ate about $32.00 worth of food.

    - The free Nathan Burton magic show at the Flamingo was excellant... though they crowd the people in tight.

    - Every one should see the beautiful view of Vegas from the top of the Stratosphere .

    - My new favorite song: Waking Up In Vegas by Katy Perry :)

Jeffery good report, I have been in the stra 5 times, and to me it seems a exellente place, I always acquire remodeled rooms, the prices very reasonable and I've also managed to bring me a small fridge and micro.

Never stayed at the Strat but you are right about the views at the top.....been there twice and going again in a month and will be doing The Big Shot once again!

You have to see the city (at night though) from the top of the Strat, that is for sure.

We stayed at the Strat for the first time 22nd and 23rd April, and I found it a good property. Better than I had expected, given some of the comments I've read. We walked from the Bellagio to there Monday afternoon, and it wasn't nearly as long a walk as I thought. Not a pleasant stroll, given the lack of scenery, but certainly do-able. The room was clean and larger than most rooms I've stayed in on the Strip. May have been a small upgrade because of it being Strip view?

The only reason I don't think we'll stay there again is because there is a $7.50 a day resort fee, which doesn't include internet access. That would have been $11.50 more a day :grrr:
