It's about $40 from the strip in a taxi. I had a great laugh when I went a couple of years ago. Young crowd around the beer pong (on your left as you walk in) and the arcade and mixed crowd on the big dancefloor. VERY busy, very loud and not very classy. If that sounds like your idea of fun then you'll love it.

it has actually changed locations so it wont be a $40 cab ride, maybe $20 each way (if that). I believe you can also ride the bus as well. It is now located in Town Square- not down by the South Point.

If you like country bars then you will like this place. There is a younger crowd on Thursday nights (ladies night)...I'm not sure what the cover charge is now. I use to frequent Stoneys a lot when I lived there. It's one of my favorite places...if you two love to dance it will be a lot of fun...around about midnight or so they do start playing more top 40 dance music. if you look at their website on the night you plan on going it will show if they have any bands that night and how much the cover charge is. http://www.stoneysrockincountry.com/

I also love Toby Keith's at Harrah's, if you haven't been there definitely check out that place as well. They always have a live country cover band.

I recommend that you check out Stoney's. I was there on NYE and had a blast, so I guess I'm not very classy ;) If you have any more questions feel free to ask :)

x2 on everything vegasdrea said about the place.

I haven't been to the new location but look forward to it on my next trip. Definitely a younger crowd and everyone is there to party. The people are a lot more laid back/friendly than the clubs at the casinos. They have a huge dance floor that would often be packed. Typical of Vegas, you will see bartenders in bikinis and chaps all over the place. Drinks are cheaper than the strip but that may change with the new location! They also have a VIP section where you can get bottle service which gives you a great place to sit down and your own waitress. Bottles were in the $200-$300 range and I think it was a minimum of 1 bottle per 5 people. Either way you go it is a lot of fun.

    Less Crowd

I've been in Vegas for a couple years now (strait from KY) and have some strong opinions on the 'country' I see here. When I first moved here I went to Gilley's in TI because it was a big name, but I think i'll skip it from now on. Expensive and kinda empty.
Stoney's #1 was fun but WAY crowded and the prices showed that they were going to drain your wallet.
Stoney's #2 is mostly the same but if you want a PACKED crowd and lines this is your place. Biggest perk was bikini bull riding!
Instead I go to Revolver up in sunset station because it's way more geared with country music and wed & fri you can get free line dance lessons from Jason. Local crowd with a good mix of non-regulars and non-existent line.
