The Flame in the El Cortez. Always had exceptional meals in there, including some very yum steak. Price is usually quite good on their specials.

Best Steak = Vic & Anthonys at Golden Nugget

Best Mid Priced Steak = Binions Steakhouse

Best Value Steak = El Cortez Flame

Hugos Cellar at Four Queens is also a very good high end steakhouse....but I give the nod to Vic & Anthonys on the upper end

Haven't eaten at Oscars @ the Plaza yet and reviews I've gathered have been mixed.

2nd Street Grill and Triple George are my favorite restaurants downtown and - though I always order seafood - I'm assured the steaks are delish! Last time we were at 2nd St, my husband & sister ordered a steak that was on special that night. Complete t-bone steak dinner $22.99 (yes, that means it includes salad/side - can't remember what exactly, but it's a meal, not just a hunk of meat) I love the semi-circular booths!

    Here's the Triple George menu:

Might be a little louder/rowdier than some of the other restaurants mentioned so far (very nice old school horseshoe shaped bar & nice drinks & wine) but I ate there for Valentine's Day one year and it was really nice.

Anyone tried ANDIAMO STEAKHOUSE at the D yet? Looking at the menu quickly it seems pretty expensive.
Would be interested in any reviews (and pics)

I had Vic & Anthony over Christmas and was very happy. I ate at the bar and the bartenders were great. The general look of the place was very classic steakhouse to me, which I like.

Vic and Anthony's was one I was looking at for when I'm there in March. I have $50 on my Landry's Select card to use.

I'll be solo though - is it a restaurant I'd be comfortable being alone or is it a "date night" place?

I've eaten at Vic & Anthony's twice. Once with a girlfriend and the 2nd alone. It was comfortable both times.

Oscars was a disappointment IMO food average and awkward conversations with the "broads" not for me I guess.. Vic and Anthony's is as advertised.. I thought binions was great plus loved the atmosphere.

I like Binions. I can't compare the steak since I haven't had any others downtown but the ambiance and view can't be beat IMO.

I've eaten at Andiamo's in Detroit. Not sure if its just named after in keeping with The D theme or if its one in the same.

Pretty sure it's the same as I watched an interview with the guy who owns the D. Not sure if that means the food will be exactly the same or not but definitely the same owners.

I should have asked before but didn't think of it: if eating at the bar, is a reservation still needed? I plan on going St. Pat's Day around 6:00, so I'm not sure if I can wing it or should make the reservation just in case.

I went on the Sunday before Christmas, so it was kind of quiet.

I think on St. Patricks at 6:00 would actually be okay at a high end steakhouse.

Vegas Chatter recently put up a post raving about their meal there on their site (link) It looks to be a pretty good option Downtown based on their take. Someone also footed their bill though, and it's pretty easy to like anything when it's free. I too am pretty curious to know someone here's take on it.
