Staying at the Plaza June 6th through the 11th. I stayed there last year for the first time and liked it. I'm being comped the room so even better. I haven't been on the forum since last spring when I went to Vegas. After reading some of the posts I maybe little put off by the beggars and all the changes that happened over the year. I guess we will see. Last year my friends and I all stayed downtown, it was the first time for me to stay downtown, I have always stayed on the strip in the past. We had a great time last year and most of us stayed at the Plaza. This trip it's just the wife and I as of today and it's my birthday weekend so I'm looking to have a blast. I'm a poker player for the most part but because it's my birthday I don't plan on playing all day & night at the poker table this trip. I can't wait.

Happy Birthday. Plaza was very nice when I was there a week ago. Not much going on there on a Thursday afternoon. Don't worry about the panhandlers they wont bother you or your wife. Just walk on by them. Not a big deal at all. Enjoy your trip.

Staying at the plaza myself again from the 2nd to the 19th June.

Like you was there last June. Convenient for the poker at the nugget and we had a car to get to the rio.

Rooms are good as you know. Not bothered about the casino itself or the food as just used the place to sleep. didnt even make the pool last year.

Looks like the zipline construction is a bit of a mess and hoping that is sorted out a bit by the time i get there as got the wife with me for the first week this trip. Her first trip to vegas so gotta play the tourist for a few days before i can get to the poker tables proper . the panhandlers as you guys there call them arent too much of a hassle in the past and are nothing compared to London these days.

Hart, if you aren't a 'crowd' person then the plaza should suit you fine. Not much of a crowd in the plaza much of the time and you can go elsewhere to play poker and if the plaza tables and machines don't suit you, you can go elsewhere to play too.

Other than possible long lines at check in the plaza isn't as crowded as the other downtown casinos.

The Plaza has the nicest rooms and most comfortable beds of all downtown casino's. I like staying there.

A friend of mine stayed at the Plaza two years ago (right after rennovations) and loved it. In fact, the next time he's in Vegas, he'll stay there again. I was there last year (to play at the casino) and it was sort of dead - but still a decent place.
