1st time staying at the ElCo downtown tomorrow. I have honestly only popped in and out over the years but I appreciate the vintage feel, got their host to comp the resort fees up front and throw in some food credit plus the free town car back to the airport is a plus.

Any advice on what are the best games at the El Co? I am mostly a video poker and slot player. I know they got great BJ and cheap roulette but I havent dabbled much in their VP. Looks like decent paying BP at the bartops which is nice. I will be staying in the tower as I dont want to be across the street at the Cabana Suites.

    What are your experiences like?

Go across the street to Therapy to have dinner at least once. You'll thank me. That is all.

The ElCo has very good vp bartops - except for the bar across from the registration desk. I think they are progressive and if I recall correctly, DDB was something like 7/5. The parlour bar and the bar by the keno are both good.

If loud nightclub noise bothers you, ask for a quiet room when you check in. For some reason, we always seem to be given the larger room at the end of the hall and while it's nice to have the space, the noise from the bars down the street just seem to come straight into those rooms and thump all night.

You might want to reserve your ride back to the airport when you check in. The ride fills up fast.

The Market across the street from ElCo is a great place for morning coffee and snacks.

If you feel like taking a short break at night, the Container Park is just a couple minutes down the road and the praying mantis shoots fire at night. It's a nice walk to get away from gambling for a bit.

There has been lots of talk about the Happy Feet Massage center on here. If you're into that, the prices are very reasonable. They are on the second floor of ElCo.

Can't think of anything else. The ElCo video poker has always been good to us and the staff are friendly. Have fun!

Elco vintage room was my first trip and I would recommend it for anyone else, the fancy rooms and the strip will come but walking up the stairs carrying your luggage is the start of the vintage feel.

If BJ is your game they have an excellent low minimum game, probably the best in Vegas. Have a great trip!!!

Vintage feel? Sounds more Motel 6 to me. I love the El Cortez, but the Cabana and Designer Suites are the only way to fly.

I'll be there tomorrow for five days! Love the El Cortez. There is a Groupon for The Market right now. Purchase one and have someone gift you one. I bring my own Kuerigs and purchase cream from across the street. That and wine. Also I've had good luck on the Wheel Of Fortune. Have fun and good luck!!!!!

Just got back from staying there last weekend. Tower room was a pleasant surprise (even had a fridge), as the only other time i stayed there i was in a Pavilion room and hated it. It's one of the smokier casinos in town so be prepared if it bothers you. Can't speak to the food in the hotel but I've eaten at Le Thai two minutes away and am a fan! Oh, most important - if you do decide to try the 2nd floor massage mentioned above, please know that A) it is a reflexology massage (look it up) and B) you are in a communal room with every other customer.

I love the El Cortez....Have stayed in the tower and the Cabana suites. Love them both.Only thing I don't like about the place is the stale cigarette smoke odor. You'll have a wonderful time there.

I would highly recommend a tower room too. I was impressed and it was quiet there. As a slots and VP player, you'll love it there.
