Staying at the Nugget in August. Should I book through a casino host or not? We will have a group of 6 staying for 6 days. We (wife and I) will do a majority of our gambling at the nugget. Also, Should I state it will be her bday? We arrive on the 16th, turns 21 on 17th. She wants to turn 21 in Vegas.
    Thanks, Joe

Does your kind of play warrant a host? If so, then probably.

Try to find a host and make sure to give your slot card to the folks that barely
play. If you book directly through the hotel then they can take charges off. If
you book a 3rd party site they will only help with food charges.

The Nugget is nice... but after your daughter turns 21 I think she would enjoy the younger vibe at The D.
    ---
On her birthday consider taking her to Hugo's Cellar at Four Queens... it reminds one of "Old Las Vegas"... with a rose for each lady and an upscale menu with reasonable prices... be sure to mention it's her 21st when you make a reservation. They have a lot of interesting tableside things... the salad ... and a lot of flaming dishes you can order.
    ---
On another one of your days, Andiamos Italian at The D has a great menu... and both restaurants please my taste buds better than anything at Nugget... just personal preference. If you want to check prices Hugo's has online menu with prices. Andiamos has a menu with no prices, but the prices are listed on their Detroit Andiamos menu and they are the same.
    ---
Don't forget for a light luncheon or an inbetween meal "snack" there are the shrimp cocktails at Golden Gate... they're big!!
    ---
Gambling wise... Fremont has $3 craps... The D has $5 Pai Gow Mania and Freebet Blackjack and Switch Blackjack... Golden Gate has the newly introduced Riverboat Roulette... your daughter can practice some of these online before going to Vegas so she'll be confident at the tables after that Big "21st". Hope all of you... especially your daughter love Las Vegas!!!
