Hey I'm travelling from Australia and wondering if there was any games ( football, hockey, basketball) played over the Christmas break.

Yep. Depending on the days you'll be in Vegas, likely all of those will be played at some point. Christmas Day will definitely have basketball.

NBA goes all day on Christmas with the first game starting at 9 AM Vegas time.

NFL has all the normal games on Sunday, 12/22 & 12/29. First games start at 10 AM Vegas time.

In addition to what the others have mentioned, there will also be plenty of college sports going on. Beginning this weekend, there will be college bowl games (football) on about everyday through the first week of January. The best games are usually right around New Years. The championship game is January 6 this year.

There will also be plenty of college basketball over the holidays. I think they might take a short break on Christmas day and perhaps the day before and after. But, other than that there will be a good number of games.

I love NFL Sundays at a sportsbook. Everyone so hopped up at 10:00 and so many dejected 6 hours later.

To clarify - are you wanting to watch sports on tv and/or bet on them in a sports book, or do you want to attend a sporting event??

Vegas doesn't have NBA, NHL, NFL or MLB (pro) sports, but they do have some minor league. As a hockey lover, I really want to get to a Wrangler game:thumbsup: They have home games on Dec 27 & 28th http://m.lasvegaswranglers.com/schedule/

That was my thought as well. I thought the OP was asking about attending a sporting event

Thanks everyone for the replays and thanks hoyaheel, I'll check that link out.

Yeah I wanted to attend a game. Most of our major sport events are NRL ( national rugby league) and cricket so really wanted to try sporting event around here like hockey or a college game

Was just comparing dates with the group and my best chance of convincing them is between 22nd to the afternoon of 27th of December. Might have to give the wranglers a miss and maybe pick a football game

If you’re in town this Saturday (21st), you might be able to catch the Las Vegas Bowl (college football). It isn’t one of the “big” bowl games. But this year it features a pretty good match-up between a couple of talented teams (USC and Fresno State).

Thanks thecarve. That game does look like what I was looking for but probably can't make it and it looks like it's sold out anyway
