So here is the deal. As some may know I am popping my downtown cherry on my trip this Jan. Thurs/Friday at the Fremont, then Sat/Sun somewhere on the strip.

So I have three options and I really would like to know what everyone thinks?

I can either, Book Mirage for one night of myvegas and use my Mlife rate of $47 for Sat night.

Book Flamingo/Harrahs/ Ballys, all standard rooms for like $50 or less for both nights. I do not really want Flamingo because I had bad experience with the hotel my last time there. I do like to gamble there.

Or book one night at the cheapest place for Saturday night, even if it is Flamingo, and use an offer from Cosmo for Sun/Mon (my flight leaves at 6:55pm Vegas time so it would be nice to have a room for the whole day)
I am a night owl, sleep 7 am to 2 or so pm, do you think that it would be worth my time to check in and out of 3 hotels.

I am leaning towards option three just because I love the Cosmo, but do not wanna pay $390 for one night (Sat) and I like I will not have to fight for late checkout at another place. But I don't know if moving would make it worth my while.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

For our annual spring trip we usually change hotels several times. A typical trip might be 2 nights at the orleans, 2 nights at wynn or Bellagio then the last night some place like MSS or Gold Coast. That gives us a sample of just about everything we want to see and do and doesn't really feel like a hassle most of the time.

For this coming March we are looking at 2 or 3 nights at Red Rock then 2 at Comsopoliton and the back off strip for the last night. We like the variety.

Whatever you choose to do, increase the quality as you go. A couple of years ago we went Mandalay Bay, then MC. While we loved MC previously, it felt like a tiny dumpy room compared to MB.

We had friends do Red Rock then Harrah's. Oh boy was that a disappointment. That same trip my wife and I went Red Rock then Encore. They refused to come up and see our room out of envy. :(

If I do option #3 it'd be Fremont to Flamingo to Cosmo So yeah I would say that is increasing in quality as I go.

Do you think checking in and out of 3 hotels for a 4 night 5 day trip will eat too much into my time? Have you experienced these delays?

We always end up moving at least once because we like to split the trip between downtown and the strip. On our last trip we ended up staying in three different hotels.....two nights Mirage (MyVegas), three nights The D (just because we like it there) and then three nights at the Aria (MyVegas). The moving really wasn't that bad, I would do it again especially if I was able to stay at the Cosmo. We travel light and don't really unpack, just live out of a suitcase. It is worth it to me to be able to check out new hotels that we have never stayed at.

I would go for option 1, take the two nights at the Mirage. The Mirage is a great place, nice rooms and great pool area. I wouldn't want to move to another hotel during a weekend since weekends can be pretty busy at the Strip. Check out and check in could take a long time and waiting for a cab with your bags could take longer than you'd like as well. But that's just me. If you had to split four nights at the Strip it would be a completely different story (we like to move around a bit).

Wow this gave me a great idea, maybe get a weekend reward for Mirage, since I never stayed there and do that for a night then move on to Cosmo... thanks for making me look at if from a different point of view.

Although I thought more of it I may not be getting my best value from my myvegas rewards considering Sat would only cost me $47!

That is what I thought, other than the hot tub, I assumed Jan would be too cold for swimming. I do like me some cold weather hot tubs!

Oeps, I completely overlooked that detail hahaha. But still wouldn't split mu stay over several hotels during the weekend. And the Mirage is a nice place so you can't really go wrong there. Great location too.

I don't know if it matters, but remember that you get 25x tier credit for every dollar spend at an mLife casino. It's within walking distance of the Flamingo.

Cosmo is nice, but their Player's Club leaves a lot to be desired.

I'd remain downtown. The D or QQQQ aren't that bad.

I suppose if I were to pose this question which hotel would make for easier check in/out for 1 day if I decide option 3 to go to Cosmo?

Ballys/mirage/Flamingo (I know sometimes their lines to check in are just terrible.) or harrahs?

Also is it considered poor form to walk the strip with a suitcase? I do not wanna look like a clown.

I never stayed downtown, I think I will like it but I really wanna spend time on the strip, ESP on Saturday night.

So if I spend $50 at Mirage I get 1250 tier credits? I did not know that. Although I only go to Vegas once or twice a year so the tier bonus probably will not do me any good. I like the cosmo rooms for the view, I always get Eastside tower fountain view. Nothing better than a cigar/beer on balcony with that view.

I have only stayed at Flamingo and Mirage and between the two the check in at Mirage was always easier. I don't know if they still have the line at the Flamingo for people with TR cards or not but we used that once and it was a lot quicker. It just seems like every time you walk through the Flamingo the line to check in is huge. Our experience at the Mirage the two times we have stayed there has been less than 15 minutes for the whole check in process compared to Flamingo where is was always at least 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour to check in and usually we were not able to get a room right away and had to go back to pick up keys.

I don't think you have to worry about looking like a clown. No one is going to notice you with your suitcase, there is always too much other stuff to be checking out

Don't worry about how you look. We walked from one place to the other with our suitcases, no big deal. There are plenty of people at the Strip who look like clowns without suitcases so that should be the least of your concerns :)

Thanks all, it is decided. My buddy and I will do two nights comped at Fremont Thurs/Fri, Sat night for $47 at Mirage, Sun night and half the day on Monday at Cosmo free. This way we have a room saved in case of a flight cancellation due to snow (Not that I am hoping for that :evillaugh)

Unless I find get a better offer between now and then this sounds like one hell of a trip. 4.5 hotel nights for $10 per night, works out for me and no worries to try to sleep Sunday night early for an 11 am checkout!
