I've stayed in most of the Caesar properties but I never pay much attention to the room or view. We did get an upgrade to the Augustus tower last trip which was a great room and had a great view of the Belagio fountains.

We will be in Vegas for Halloween and found out my wife's mother is coming to the States for the first time. Of course no visit to the States is complete without the customary Vegas stop so she will be joining us.

We have most room types at all of the properties comped but we will need to pay for her room which rules out the Augustus tower. My host has suggested Paris as the best view for the incremental cost but suggested Rio has a great view of the strip.

I've only stayed at Paris once and didn't have a strip view so don't really know. I can get regular or Red room comped. Is Paris a good choice for the view and what is a Red Room?

Also, any thoughts on the view from Rio? Stayed there several times but never had a view.

    Thanks in advance.

Just curious, do you have the TR card?..........and if you do, and if you're not comped at Augustus, why not get a room at Caesars comped like the Palace or Forum and then upgrade to Augustus for the $20. Why wouldn't your Host at Caesars recommend what i suggested.
If not, stay at Paris at the highest room comped, and then use the sandwich to upgrade with a Bellagio view. She'll love Paris, the dining, the mid strip access, shopping at Planet Hollywood and Caesars, etc.
The Rio is fine, i stayed there in May and loved it......however, for a first timer, i recommend staying on the Strip.

Red Rooms are the higher floors and therefore have better views, in general. Red rooms just like the standard rooms come in luxury (facing anything NOT the strip) and Premier (facing the strip). Therefore Red room Premiere is the most expensive room...high floor fountain view....be aware, since this is for your MIL (I have no idea what her age, etc is) Strip facing rooms at Paris now get many complaints about the noise factor from the club (forgot what it is called, I don't do clubs). If she is young at heart and out late...no problem...if she is older and wants to go to bed at a reasonable hour may be an issue. Just a heads up. I stayed in a Red room Premiere before but that was before the club noise. Red rooms have a fridge for your use...I don't remember if the lower floor regular rooms do or not. I Love the Rio...I like the strip views but you really are not seeing the lights of the strip due to the angle of the building. You do however get a decent view of the lights in general all over the city. I just booked the week of Halloween myself and am traveling with my MIL. Booking Bally's just because it has the biggest standard room and I am not use to the 2 bed rooms, it is always King with the husband. I have stayed at the Rio and love it...I just got tired of having to travel to the strip. It is not that big of a deal really, my husband just likes to walk out the door and be there on the strip.

Do you have kids? If so then I recommend a standard room at Paris for her because she'll LOVE it since its looks just like a Grandma's bedroom!

Yes my wife and I are both Diamond. I thought about trying to get upgraded to Augustus but figure I will have to pay for the other room which might be pricey. Even looked at each of us getting a room but my wife was only comped Forum and Roman tower for two nights. Still paying two nights shouldnt be that bad. Guess we could take our chances.

I don't think I have ever stayed at Ballys, do you think that would be a better choice than Paris with the club noise and small rooms? Rio rooms are large but I think on the strip is best for her first trip.

I wouldn't take anyone to the Rio for their first trip to Vegas... it's not great anymore. Should stay on the strip!! Paris is a great option! i'd go with that, and go with a Red Room. You should be happy there.

I don't understand why both of you can't get the Forum Tower comped for two nights. I have Caesars comped for 5 nights next week and i'm only Gold.
Why not book at least a Forum room for 3 people and then upgrade? Book a double bed room comped and then upgrade to the Palace which at is least a hundred sq feet bigger and plenty of room for 3. You don't have to pay for her room..........you "pay" for a room already comped, and being Diamond, no resort fees.

Doesn't it still depend on the week you choose? I thought even the higher tiered members are still restricted to what the hotel's offering ie. nothing or minimal offered during high traffic periods like major conferences etc. or does diamond status trump all?

I use the TR rate calender, i get plenty of offers at all CET hotels including Caesars, but i never take the offers because i prefer free rooms. I only book Vegas from Sun-Fri, however, according to the Halloween weekend (Sandsfan), that weekend is partially comped and heavily discounted Fri-Sat, and like i said, i'm Gold. They both are "Diamonds in the Sky" (sorry, i'm madly in love with (Rihanna).
By booking Caesars through the rate calender, the rooms will probably be a lot cheaper or comped like mine and i'm not Diamond or even Platinum.
I never go on Halloween, but i wouldn't consider it a high traffic period. I usually go in the Fall mid Oct. and early Nov. What's amazing to me is that both the husband and wife are both Diamond, yet the "host" couldn't give them or didn't want them to appease their customer.
I don't know if the Diamond status trump all, but i do know that a Gold player like myself who doesn't use a host, who goes solo and plays slots, and doesn't need "offers"...........is treated well at CET. And i never gamble at Caesars yet they give me free rooms. There will be 3 people going to Vegas spending their money, apparently the "host" sees it differently.

Sandsfan....after the rooms you have had in the past...I am not going to recommend anything. You have had the best and I don't think anything at Bally's Paris Rio Flamingo are going to compare. Bally's, even in the north tower are being called "tired", Paris is often referred to as "tired". I am not picky but I have no idea how picky you or your MIL might be. All of the properties have pros/cons. I have a North Tower Luxury booked for oct...but since I have not stayed there (played but not stayed in the hotel) in 10 years. I can only go by others opinions.

Sorry I wasn't very clear. Using the calendar, I can get Forum or Roman tower king comped all four days. My wife can get forum comped for two day and pay the last two. I should have tried using both our cards and checking 2 Queens to see what we could get.

You are right, I could book what I can get at Caesars and try the upgrade to Augustus. Might still do that as I like Caesars, just wish it didn't take my money so fast.

Both my wife and I are diamond thanks to the bonus program they started this year. I got mine in two days of 2500 point play. Wife's took a few visits. She is level 1 and I am Level 2 although it doesn't seem to make much difference except on the free charter flights to Laughlin and Tunica.

Waverunner thanks for your input, got me thinking of making a change, Do you like the Forum tower?

I was pleased to get the Augustus tower last trip but a little disappointed that now we are both diamond that I can't do better for two rooms.

I made Diamond and most play outside of Vegas. Maybe my March and May stay were not high enough play. Or outside my host home hotel.

Anyway, I appreciate the input and will discuss with the wife whether to go for one room at Caesars or two elsewhere.

    Thanks again.

I think you are right. We will be at the Rio for Labor day and that will probably be enough for us as well. Definitely go for the strip.

In 30 years of going to Vegas i have never stayed Caesars, so i'm looking forward to it. I may upgrade to Palace because it's closer to the pool.
Thanks for clarifying the tier. If not Caesars i would stay at Paris and try and upgrade. Paris has a wonderful variety of dining options including the Eiffel Tower. And Paris is connected to Bally's and is very, very, close to Planet Hollywood and across the street from Caesars for shopping. Good luck.

Waverunner, I just received my conf #s and found out why we were not comped as much as I thought we would be. Seems my account info still had my ex wife's information so when I asked to check on a room for me and one for my wife, that is what got pulled up. Since my ex wife has no activity, there wasn't much comped.

Problem is being corrected and looks like we are switching to Caesars. I think mine is comped and my wife's total for 4 nights is about $80.

By the way, do you know anything about the Palace Tower? Is that good?
