We are about to enjoy the SP for the first time, for a one night experience AWAY from the strip.

Every trip to Vegas, we do one, NIGHT, away from the strip.

Every single time, it has been Downtown. NO MORE...

We really do not enjoy the experience at all Downtown, and it is times to call it quits.

For the first time, our one night strip break away is going to be Southpoint.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
We will be having Dinner at the Primarily Prime Rib.

Followed by a full night of gambling at the Southpoint, away from the strip.

We know the VP is better, and table games.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

It will be on a Wednesday Night.

Any other goodies, for us to enjoy as first time visitors?

Lounge acts, VP Bars that have fun Bartenders, fun table games...?

The fun book, maximum of 2, received at check-in includes among other coupons, a free well, domestic beer or glass of wine. In addition, there is a coupon for entry to one of their nightlife shows in the showroom. On Wednesday nights the Deja Vu show band performs in the showroom. Though it caters to the senior set, you may want go because a) it is free with the coupon, b) you get a free drink and c) you will receive a coupon good for $5 in free slot play that you redeem at the club booth.

Also in the fun book is a coupon for a free dessert at the Primarily Prime Rib.

The happy hour at the tequila bar immediately outside the entrance to the Primarily Prime Rib is pretty lame these days.

Bloody Marys or mimosas go for $1 between at any bar from 6am-noon or get a Bailey's and coffee for $2.

I don't know what video poker game(s) you play, but a few of the bars offer NSUD which returns 99.7% with perfect play.
The one bar I am sure that has it is the Grandview Lounge.

If you are up and starving, head to the Coronado Cafe for the late night specials served between midnight and 6AM.

Most of the food at the Deli can be split...huge servings. We have ressies for PPR this coming Sat :) Nothing fancy but homie. We are slot players and this coming week will be our 5th stay there. Compared to the strip we find our bankroll lasts a lot longer. Gift shop booze prices are great (compared to the strip). Long walk to the elevators and parking garage. We hit Steak n Shake primarily for their shakes. When you see a line in front of the Deli near the sportsbook it is for the cheap hotdogs :) If you play slots near Steak n Shake at night you will be overpowered by the smell of the movie theater popcorn upstairs...makes you want to go upstairs and grab a bag to bring back to your room. Not the Bellagio but IMO cleaner than Flamingo...great middle of the road property. Not sure what you booked but their regular rooms are all the same...cheapest = no view, $10 more gets you some kind of view even it it is a parking lot, $10 more than that gets you wide open vistas. We are NOT high rollers but we do both play off my card. Due to the better paying machines, hence more $$ run through we actually get suites comped. No other place in Vegas gives us that. We will be on the 25th floor this Sat - Tues. Hope you enjoy the place as much as we do. Headsup, if you are a 3 card poker player (the only table game I ever play occasionally) there is this dealer from Boston...forgot his name, but he will suck all the life out of you. I don't think he has ever smiled a day in his life...he needs to change occupations just because he looks so miserable lol.

Make sure you check out the Full size bronze statue of Benny Binion on his horse. This is an amazing work of art imho of a Vegas icon. I think it's near the Players Club (the Club) booth.

A couple hours of $5 table plays will get you buffets or coffee shop comp. At least every time I asked it did. In my experience the pit critters are always friendly. As mentioned there are some sour dealers or silent. There are a couple that warm up and are fun once they get to know you but if I get a bad one I just move to the next table.

    Screwed Up

I can see how I miss led people on this one.

Each Vegas trip, we do spend one night away from the Vegas strip.

Dum Dum here, needs to say, it is a night out, not stay in room at the resort.

We are going to do the $8 Shuttle trip from the Aria pick up location.

Just wondering if there is anything special to see or do during our gambling night. We have grown to really hate Downtown (it is just us, Downtown is a great Vegas experience), and will be there for the entire evening till the last shuttle back to the strip (Midnight).

If we like it, we may extend our next Vegas trip from 5 to 7 nights, with a two night pre Strip starter at the Southpoint.

Someone on another thread posted a question about a pre Strip visit to either Southpoint or Goldcoast.

That one intrigued us, for what a great way to start out a Vegas Vacation. It's right in the area of the Silverton and M Resort to visit (yea.. Taxi's all the way, but hey.... NO TUNNEL).

So it's just a FULL evening visit.

Yes, we will do a 3CP session that night. THANKS FOR THE WARNING, and will avoid any miserable looking dealers.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

We are there to enjoy another wonderful Night in Vegas, but away from the strip for one night to explore something new! :drunk:
