    My Trip Report

Flights: Southwest, PWM-BWI-ATL-LAS not bad, got stuck on the tarmac in ATL for an hour. Hour late into Vegas missed shuttle. Not a great start but could be way worse. (See my trip report from last year.) 2 free bags each is a great motivator. Paid with our SW miles. Therefore FREE.
Return LAS-BWI-PWM, non-eventful and on time.

Hotel: South Point, our second stay. first time we (Trophywyfe and I ) have made a return visit to a property in 7 trips together.
We each received a mailer for 2 free days, called ahead and they honored both for a total of 4 free days plus free play, food and resort credits. Host said she would comp the other 5 days! Therefore FREE.

Hotel was great, big very clean rooms, decent VP odds and the boys at the bars remembered us! Shout out to Dave, Sean, Downtown Benny, Michael and Danny. These guys treat us like good friends and with Dave and Sean like family, (Sean congrats on the marriage and the new house) never like customers. We spend most of our time playing VP at the bartops and watching sports.

We played for an afternoon at the Main Street Station. I always see an item or feature in that place I have never noticed before. Great atmosphere.

Entertainment/Activities: At the South Point the Spazmatics, good show, 80's retro band with a lot of opportunity to dance with the Trophywyfe. With funbook coupon FREE, although we bought the VIP package $10 each, not worth it, go for FREE.
Dirty at 12:30 (comedy show) at the SP, disappointed. Not very funny or dirty. Poor production, but hey it's FREE.
UNLV vs. Hawaii football, go to a game every trip. We do not have a Div. 1 college football team here, so we have adopted UNLV. UNLV went up big, we left early, Hawaii came back, UNLV pulled it out at the end. Still kicking myself for leaving early. NOT FREE paid for great seats, 37 yd line 4th row home side. Someone wanted to swap seats and we ended up in the front row!! Before the game we were awarded the Program Winners for the game and given 2 free dinners at the Silverado Steak House at the SP. $150 meal FREE!!! (Trophywyfe found $20 in the parking lot!!!!!) Concessions at Sam Boyd stadium are very, very good and reasonably priced.
Went golfing at The Wildhorse and the Legacy. Wildhorse was $39 with a Groupon coupon, the Legacy $100. Cab rides to and fro, NOT FREE.
Wife went to the Spa at the SP. Haircut, massage, seaweed wrap and beauty products. She loved it. Hotel covered the bill, therefore FREE.
Trophywyfe went shopping at the North and South Outlet Malls. North Outlet Mall she loved it, but gets very crowded with all of the tour busses.
South Outlet mall, needs work, a very lesser version of the North mall.

Dining: Looked forward all year to the Chinese food at the Coronado Café at the SP. Awesome last year, not so much this year. In fact it was very bad with very poor service. Everyone said it was an anomaly, we just got a bad visit. Still very disappointed. Everything was barely warm, waitress absolutely LOST. We ate there one more time (very late/early) and it was OK.
Buffet: It's OK, price with the players card is very good. It is an OK buffet.
Primarily Prime Rib: WOW, freaking awesome, the service, the presentation, the food. Absolutely outstanding. Our buddy Alex gave us his comp. FREE
We actually ate there twice. Hotel covered the bill, therefore FREE.
Del Mar Deli: Ate there 3 or 4 times. Liked it, good food, quick meals. Hotel covered the bills, therefore FREE.
Steaks and Shakes: ehhh Ok I guess. It is not In and Out or Five Guys.
Silverado Steak House: WOW, freaking awesome, the service, the presentation, the food. Absolutely outstanding. $150 meal FREE, thanks UNLV!!!!

Went across the street to the Boulevard Bar and Grill based on the great internet reviews of the pizza and atmosphere. Pizza was OK, far from great, atmosphere was again OK. Bartender was very nice and personable. Had a few wings before leaving, BIG MISTAKE, same as you would buy frozen in a bag from Wal-Mart, very, very over cooked and I got sick for the next 36 hrs. (I will spare you the details).

Had breakfast at DUPARS at the Golden Gate: Pancakes were awesome, bacon overcooked, fresh squeezed OJ outstanding. While there the waitress left the syrup tap on and walked away. It was pouring all over the counter, onto the bread stack and floor. I informed an employee and she did nothing except to tell someone else. Syrup stopped. No one even nodded my way as if to say thanks. The $2.99 shrimp cocktail still ROCKS!!!

Gambling: I did well first 2 days, playing even plus a little. Wife did not do well those 2 days. In fact after a few beverages and a massive losing streak she went back to the Spa to buy more overpriced salon products. Hotel covered the bills, therefore FREE.
Next day Trophywyfe went on a tear and won up to $3000, I did not. Next day she won up to $1000, I did not. Remainder of the trip she played even, I lost, lost and lost some more. 7 trips together and this was her best gambling trip and my worst.
We played some craps twice both choppy tables. I played some Pai Gow, I may have set the casino record for most Pai Gow's in a 3 hour session. The dealers were shaking their heads with my run of Dragon luck. I played BJ once. Familiar with the Dr. Demento song " Boot to the Head"?? -$200 in 15 min. I still have the bruises.
I hit a 9 team teaser card!! My first ever. +$100

Transportation: As I said missed the shuttle from the airport to the SP had to cab it. $25. Cabs to and fro the golf courses $140 (more than the green fees). SP stepped up and provided a limo to and fro the football game. FREE. SP provided a Town car to and fro our trip downtown. FREE. SP also provided a Town car back to the airport. FREE.

In summation: the South Point treated us great. We turned down many free meals, bottles of wine and desserts. Their staff really has the personal touch and makes us feel wanted and appreciated. Granted, we do put a lot of points on our cards and tip very well, but they work for and deserve every dollar.

    Curious...
What kind of action do yall give SouthPoint?
I'm planning on hitting them up to play some SuperTimesPay...
If I give them like $10k coin-in, in ONE day, will they give me some good stuff?

    Nice report

Sounds like you and the lady had fun. Makes me want to give South Point a try, and feel like I'm special.

The football and golf were good ideas to mix it up.

Loved your detailed report. South Point is our favorite! I will be there next week. My host is great. No strip property treats me as well as the SP does.

Rkid: Thanks for the trip report. I also like the SouthPoint, I've stayed there a couple of times. And I love their VP. Your wife did OK - did she get a royal? -- Lorna

I played at South Point a lot as well. I never thought they would give a town car to go downtown. Did you ask a host for it?? Curious to try it when I go over Veteran's Day weekend.
