I'd like to alert readers that if you are looking for a report that bounces around, this is not it. We didn't leave the South Point once we arrived there. With that being said: The Tuesday before we left, our eleven year old lab had a heart attack at 5PM. We managed to get him to the vet, where he walked in on his own power, went to the scale (smart dog), where I grabbed him and got him on the table where he died. So we didn't know if we were going to go on this trip or not. He had been in good health, except for his epilepsy, so this was a huge shock to both of us. I was happy that he had spent my birthday the day before in good health. Left Springfield Missouri on Allegiant on time at 1:30 Monday, July 16, 2012. Allegiant has started their carry on fee and this was the first time we had flown them since. We were checking bags and bringing one shopping bag on board each. At check in, the agents were checking the size of both the bin bags, and under seat bags. The agent also informed us that Ann's purse would have to fit in the shopping bag too. Please. At boarding, the agents again measured the carry on bags of pretty much everybody. We had the exit row and all three items fit underneath just fine. Five drinks later, we landed in sunny Las Vegas and after hitting the smoking lounge in the D gates, we went downstairs to get our checked bags and fine our driver from Presidential Limo. We had requested James, as he had always given us good service (learned our lesson the second time we used Presidential) and upon checking the email sent to my phone, found we had been changed to Ted. Ted turned out to fit our personality perfectly and upon arriving at the car, found we had been upgraded to a super stretch limo. Ted had asked at baggage claim where we were headed, since we had booked two hours just to get to the South Point, and I told him Wal*Mart at Silverado Ranch and Bermuda road. We headed that way, enjoying the conversation with Ted as we went. Pulled in to Wal*Mart and picked up the must haves, beer, coffee, creamer, soda, and chips. Arrived at the South Point and got the bellman to take our bags. He remembered us from February. Went to check in, we had received an offer for two free nights in a one bedroom suite, which our host had extended to three nights, comped. We were assigned room 2574, top floor, overlooking the swimming pool and looking South. Great suite, though Ann commented the tub would only swim two instead of 6 like the suite we had in February. Here's some pics, I would have taken more, but I needed to get my gamble on after being drug to WM. So I head down and go straight to the multi play Wolfs Run machine with one of the beers from the room. Played for awhile, more like two hours, and had quite a few tasty cocktails. Biggest hit were these: Wandered over to the 5 line $ machines and played a bit more, hit this: About this time, Ann called and started talking dinner, we decided on room service and I told her I'd be up in a bit. Cashed out the ticket and wander upstairs. Ann had ordered a turkey wrap for me, huge and good, while getting the malibu chicken for herself. Had just enough time to take a quick shower before room service showed up, South Point has fast room service, usually under 30 minutes, it's fair priced and good. After dinner, decided I'd had enough for the night, and watched some TV. Managed to put 3500 points on my card ($1 coin in = 1 point) while losing $300. Tuesday: Got up around 8 am and had some coffee. Ann surprised me by saying she was going to get ready and come downstairs and play, so we got down to the casino around 11 am. Usually she doesn't appear till 4 or 5, if she even gambles. She plays Texas Tea, I play Kaboom. It never booms, so I go play the Superman, the movie machine. It let me play and I recouped my losses from Kaboom. Ended up at Wolfs run and it sucked up $200 at $4 a spin pretty quick. A couple of hours have past and Ann decided she had had enough, so she goes up to the room. I proceed to lose. Played many machines but never really got any good hits to keep me going. Went by the sports book and had a 75 cent hot dog for lunch. My buzz was insulted, but not for to long. Ended up at a five line $1 3x4x5x machine and hit this: Wandered over to the Del Mar deli and grabbed two gyros and fries for the room and headed upstairs around 7 PM. They were good. My back was killing me, and I told Ann I was going to go stretch it on the bed. Managed to hit the swimming pool tub after awhile and the next thing I knew it was 6AM and I was drinking coffee. Tuesday was brutal, lost about $900 with 6000 points put on the card. Wednesday: Decided to start the day doing something I never do, eat breakfast. Hit the buffet with a ½ price coupon and used my points, $3.48 for the buffet and $2 in real money for the tip. It was three plates good. Stopped off on the way back to the room to get cleaned up at the Alladin machine. Interesting game, it starts off asking you to select the seat movement setting. Hit the bonus and the get the magic carpet bonus. The moving seat was a good time. Make it upstairs and have a few mimosas to appease my insulted stomach. Move on to Coronas and decide that the hat I'm wearing is better than a shower, and headed downstairs. Played until 3 pm, losing away, decided I would go upstairs. At this point, I had put 2500 points on the card and wanted to hit 5500 points that day. Grab a beer from the fridge and head down to wolfs run. Put in $100 and proceeded to play for 3 hours before losing it. I was playing anywhere from $4 to $10 a spin. Hit this: The CW was doing a good job and by this time, I was pretty much plowed. Decided it was time for some 5 line action and headed that way, stopping off at a $5 minimum craps table. Played there for another couple of drinks and cashed out up $136. Tossed the dealers $6 for a tip and continued on to the 5 liners. At this time, I had 5000 points on the card for the day. Put in $100 and hit this thinking finally: Wander over to the other 5 line machine I like with 5500 points on the card. It turned on and I hit this: Finally quit playing when I hit 9500 daily points and cashed out $300. Went upstairs where Ann ordered room service again. I had the hot wings, she had the malibu chicken again. I was impressed with the wings, more meat than bone. Ended up eating the left overs in the fridge also, and drank a 32oz gatoraide. Sent an email to our host, who ended up comping all food and climbed into bed. Thursday Our flight was scheduled to leave at 1:20, so we had time that morning to pack, or Ann did. I went downstairs and played superman, wolfs run, alladin, and the 5 liners again. Lost $300 but got some decent play, managing to put on another 2000 points before grabbing a cab back to the airport. We were going to take the free shuttle but decided that one left to early, and one left to late. Flight left about 30 minutes late, which I consider on time for Allegiant from Las Vegas and got back to the continuing heat wave. Managed to run somewhere around 20,000 through the machines and brought part of the bank roll back, so I was happy since I'm headed to the Beau Rivage next weekend. Opened the mailbox this morning, and have another suite offer good each month for the next three months. Guess I should stay on the strip, but I don't really see the point. Thanks for reading!
