Well I had no intention of going back to Vegas before Gaggles May 2015 Vegas trip, but after 3 weeks of constant texts and pics from my friends having fun in Vegas while I got killed at work, I had one too many jello shots Saturday night, ended up at The Rivers, and obtained sufficient financing to cover a quick 2-nighter in December.

As some may recall my wife had forbidden me from spending any money before completing a kitchen remodel, and I finally emptied my Vegas fund to finance the following minor improvements.....

    Before

    After

and decided to upgrade the family room a little for football season....

    After

So anyway, now that i've fullfilled my homestead obligations, this Vegas shit is back on baby!!!!

Funny how much easier, cheaper and more fulfilling the family room renovations are, huh?!

Glad to see a countdown timer that isn't in the 700's !

Where can I cash my ticket for my "OVER/UNDER ON BEEJAY'S TRIP COUNTER" under bet?!?

Great looking kitchen - who did you cabinets? From the pic they look like cherry? Or maybe maple with a cherry stain?

I am a lumber guy who sells wood all day long to cabinet and millwork shops so I always take interest in cabinets and pretty much anywhere that has millwork (would have loved to have sold a casino's millwork materials!).

GREAT JOB BEEJAY on the remodel and taking THE RIVERS. I hate that place. So thank you for getting some of my money back.

Good to hear you are going to VEGAS. Now Take down Caesar's Palace. They look some of my moneys this last trip so it is there for you to get.

    Looking forward to your TR.

Yes the family room was MUCH cheaper at all that cost me was a Value City Furniture sectional, a Best Buy.com TV Stand, a Samsung 65" TV and surround sound system from ABT Electronics (not in the pic, just installed Mon).

The kitchen was a huge chore (took 2 months and still need to finish a few details) and we went to a bunch of one-off word-of-mouth places where we were able to get "deals" and stretch our budget into some decent materials. Appliances were bought at HHGregg 4th of July sale and I've been watching the prices for their 90-day price match guarantee and they still aren't that low.

Cabinets came from some place in the hood, can't remember, but are solid wood and not the particle board crap. (yes maple w/cherry finiish i believe).. Our contractor had a good discount there. Same with the granite, the place kind of sucked but the product was good and it was the contractor who had to deal with them. According to my neighbor and kids babysitter the granite guy and my contractor were near fisticuffs a couple times. lol.

We bought and returned tile 3 times before wife found a tile I really love at Lowe's. Very happy with it.

A whole lotta money later, still prob be eating out cause wife still can't cook, her first meal in new kitchen (uh yeah that is microwave bacon and hot dog buns with jam, no butter that was apparanty too complex):

The Rivers win was nice..... actually was down $800 before the quads started rolling. Then I popped over to roulette and nailed a few minor wins before a $1,205 hit on #0 with $40 split and $15 straight up sent me packing with a little over $2K net win

Good stuff...and even better you'll be able to hit Vegas this year.

And yeah - the particle board core stuff is total junk. I sell that stuff to guys who make el cheapo furniture and it is flat out terrible.

    BeeJay -
Were your old kitchen cabinets built in the 80's ?
Cos your floor tile + cabinets are/were exactly like mine !
We did a renovation this past winter - changed the cabinets + floor tiles, too.

Yess.....I'll be back in Vegas in December too, and most likely at Caesars!

Just have to figure out the exact dates so I can add a countdown timer (most likely it'll be December 3rd-7th)

    Nice remodel job!

We went with the triple door, lower freezer drawer and love it. We also went with the duel fuel range. The best of both worlds. Gas burners and electric oven.

Because of available space, best I can do is a 58" TV with a sound bar, but I am ready for tonight's Pack vs. Seahawks game.

Kitchen remodel looks fantastic!!! Your wife is patient; I'd have gone on a cooking boycott a long time ago if the kitchen didn't get reno'd! Hope it inspires some fantastic meals. Get your wife on Pinterest if she isn't on it....I do a once or twice a week new recipe off of Pinterest but now wised up and only try ones with good reviews after one gross rib recipe that had a cup of Jack Daniels in the sauce. Disgusting!

Happy to hear there is a trip in the near future!!

Haha good to see you return to Vegas. I thought the 2 Years wait is too long for a true degenerate.
